SO, here is the deal. I went to a bridal shop and feel in love with a dress, got a quote and left to think if over/wait til the right time to order. Fast forward a month or so and i go in to get measured and buy the dress.

She asked me if I had my quote, but I had been unable to find it and hadn''t brought it with me. Since their computer system was currently down, they had to look the dress up the old fashioned way. She had alot of trouble finding the dress and had to have her husband help her out in looking for it. Finally they decided on what the price of the dress was, I paid and left. That was...a week or so ago.

Today, while going through my planner, I found her original quote. It is $30 lower then what I paid. I know they had trouble finding my dress in the caatalog and matching it up with number/price. Should I be worried that they maybe did not order the correct dress since the price is different? Would it be weird if i called her and mentioned the quote and price difference and asked her to check or do you think that i am probably fine?

I mean $30 isn''t that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. The price of the dress could have even gone that much in the few months since I had been in for all i know. So i am not asking for a refund, i mean i agreed to the higher price at the time of the sale (However, if she wanted to give me credit towards alterations or something i would no turn my nose at it lol). I am just wondering if i should be worried about it being the right dress and if its ok for me to say something.

One other thing, as I am looking at my dress receipt....

Here is what it says:

Purchase Price 669.00
Sales Tax 55.19
TOTAL 724.19
Deposit 21.72
Balance 745.91

I told them I was paying all in full and they charged my card 745.91. What is the 21.72? I would expect to see the balance be the total minus the deposit, wouldnt you? Anyone else have a slip that looks like this?

I was so excited about ordering my dress and preoccupied when my atm card was declined (apparently a $700 purchase on an atm card that isnt often used sets off wells fargos fraud warning and instead of contacting the card holder to see, they just decline their card until the person gets annoyed and calls them. Lovely huh?) that I didnt pay enough attention to my bill. BTW, not much is more embarassing then having your card declined, except insisting that they run it again b.c there is no way it shouldnt be working and having it declined again and then waiting on hold to speak to someone about it for like 10 mins while the people in the bridal shop just kind of stare at you! Good thing I always have atleast 2 credit cards on me!

So, now I am thinking that maybe I should bring in her original quote and my receipts and get more info, what do you all think?

I would bring it all back just to double check that they have the right dress. Just in case

I would try to get to the bottom of it too. At least to be sure you were charged the right amount and got the right dress!

I would go back to make sure the ordered the correct dress and then approach the money issue. I think it would be better for the people at the salon so not to get confused.

But yeah, you are right, the balance amount should be total cost minus the deposit.

What I really do not understand about the whole deposit thing is where did she get that number? She asked me how much i wanted to put down and i said that I would just pay it all now.

So why is there even a dollar amount for a deposit?

Yes, I think I will definitely go in and talk to her.

That would worry me as well. I hope that you''re able to get to the bottom of it. I agree that $30 isn''t that big of a deal (besides, prices could have gone up a bit in the last month) but I''d really want that they ordered the right dress!!
