i''ve been rather cautious regarding this topic given that those of us in santa cruz county do have a reputation for being rather suspicious of just about anything. however, i''m starting to see more and more articles regarding this topic in coming from different parts of the country. and when it starts coming out of las vegas, well, perhaps it is time to sit up and listen. its an interesting article. let me know what you think.

These started showing up about the time that new explosion resistant/smog reducing and other additives were mandated in all jet aircraft fuel.

They apear to associated with smog and smog producing areas.
My feelings are that one of the additives in the jet fuel is mixing with high altitude smog and producing them.

At the time the new fuel was mandated I was working at a plant producing fuel controllers for jet aircraft and the new fuel really did a number on fuel controller parts.
Stainless steel parts that were imune to just about anything were getting eaten by the additives.

I dont have any facts and figures to back up my explaination but Iv got a feeling its related.
