Hi everyone,

I saw some older posts about real cherry blossom centerpieces and I was wondering if anyone knew how much they cost approximately? Has anyone used cherry blossoms in their wedding? Any cherry blossom ideas would be great, I am thinking that our "theme" might be Spring in Japan. :) Thanks in advance!!

I imagine they''d be pretty expensive because their "season" is really short. If you aren''t getting married in early Spring I wouldn''t recommend it.

It''ll probably March or April. =D

Hi Sarah,
I''m not sure what these look like up close, but white aisle makes some nice stuff, including faux blossom branches
just a thought...

I''m also someone who''s not quite sure how much they cost, but the fake/silk ones are usually very nice duplicates if you''re willing to think along those lines. (You honestly wouldn''t be able to tell they''re silk unless you touched the flowers. I have some in my living room that look beautiful.)

You could also try asking local florists about apple blossoms, or other trees that have small blossoms like these, but as a previous poster mentioned, there''s only a VERY short blooming time.

I think you don''t see them used in weddings because they''re very fragile/delicate and wilt really quickly. I''d talk to your florist about what other options are out there to get the same effect.

Thanks everyone, I will call a florist this week!

I love the white aisle ones...siiigh pink and white is sold out right now. Hopefully it will come back?

Just wanted to update: I talked to a few florists and it looks like they are going to be REALLY difficult to get. So my options would be silk flowers, or similar flowering branches.

I went to talk to a florist this weekend and he mentioned to me that cherry blossoms do have a short season but because he specializes in wedding flowers and is such a big dealer that he can get cherry blossoms for a much longer period of time beacuse he gets them from all over the place. So I think that if you stick to bigger florist they may be able to get you those CBs!

On the other hand, they are definitly not cheap. CBs were my first choice as well but then I knew they would be so expensive and I just didn''t want to spend that kind of money. This florist quoted me for $150 a table for a CB centerpiece. The basic, tall vase with branches sticking out. For my budget that was just way too much!

Oh I''m also in NY (Westchester) area. I don''t know where you are but I''m sure location has an effect on prices.

Wowow! That''s a lot. I really like flowers, but not that much. Thank you so much for the info!

I really like the idea of cherry blossoms. Those silk ones are really pretty too.

Sigh, I think so, too. But they are out of stock and White Aisle said it''s hard to know if they''ll be back.

Sarah, do you know anybody with a fruit tree that has flowers like cherry blossoms? You might be able to "prune" their tree. For the lunar new year, my family always does that.

Hmm, you know. I think there might be a dogwood tree in my parent''s yard. I think it''s like illegal or something to cut them since they''re the state flower or tree or whatever, buut maybe no one will notice?

That''s a really good idea, by the way!

You should GROW a cherry blossom tree! Haha. My parents used to have this beautiful cherry blossom tree in our front yard. I was so angry the day they cut it down.

I so thought of buying one.

Haha, I just don''t know if I have enough time for it to grow up enough. Especially since it''d only bloom during a few weeks.
