Chose my setting for sapphire engagement ring!

Would you add a wedding band that covered the side stones?

I looked at this setting at a local jeweler before and loved it but wanted to see other options. A couple months later I stopped in to find out it was 30% off and still loved it!

It's by a brand called Venetti and has a lifetime warranty so I'm not concerned about issues with the pave falling out.

I don't think I want to add a wedding band because it would hide the diamonds on one side. I've also always preferred the symmetry of the main stone centered on one ring. Is it weird not to have a wedding band? Thoughts?

I wouldn't add a wedding band because it will hurt the side pave. But there's nothing weird about not having a wedding band! It's 100% up to you and whatever you like! I don't think there's any "right" way to wear an engagement/wedding ring.

The melees might rub each other and get damaged or the metal might rub the stones and cause damage. One sided pave is fine or wear the band on a different hand?

I can't believe this hasn't been brought up by other folks, but what about a plainer wedding band in a curved or chevron shape? As gold is softer, as long as you get a thin band it shouldn't obscure the side diamonds too much, and the rubbing off gold against diamond won't hurt diamond. You can always get another plain gold band, or polish it if it scratches.

I bought my wedding band from this Etsy shop. Am very satisfied with workmanship and price. https://www.etsy.com/shop/VinnyandCharles?ref=ss_profile

I would definitely wear the band on the side I can't see the side diamonds.

I say get a wedding band but, wear it on your right hand ring finger :twisted2:

I would actually do wedding band on left hand, engagement ring on right (that's what they used to do in the old days i think!)

It's not weird not to have one at all, you should do what you like! Some people might assume you are engaged but not married if that matters to you.

Thanks everyone! I think I am going to go with no wedding band. I really do love it just on it's own.
