Well I was going to buy her a pad sapphire whoever she didnt like the color. Do you think the second setting would look good in white gold she wears sterling silver and white gold only.

NJC photoshop wizard, I would love to see that diamond in the first setting, the halo split shank in yellow or rose gold, could that be done? I was just thinking of a warmer gold to accentuate the lovely glow of the diamond rather than Wg? Just my preference but this is so fun!

love love love the halo split shank in the yellow gold...that would have been my choice at the onset, but seeing it....wow!!!! it also looks good in the white gold and rose gold as well....whichever color metal you choose, my vote is for the halo split shank.

crazy that they make that as a stock setting now...can you believe it diamondlil...after all that custom job hell we went through!!!!

I think my mum would like the one in white gold with the halo in rose . However I love the white gold with the yellow gold halo. I going to have a hard time deciding between the two.

I hope you can present that chocolate morsel to her in a chocolate truffle box...in the middle of the truffles present that beauty in their midst. "Life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what (treasure) you will find".

I adore the halo. My preference is all white metal. But the others opinions for warm metal surrounding the stone have their experience in merit. Any of the choices will be fantastic.

Please consider the chocolate theme...it would be sooo sweet.

How the heck did I miss this one? Thanks, FG, for bringing it to my attention. Well, you can porbably guess which setting I like -- heehee. Split-shank/halo all the way, baby!!!

Since your mom wears white metal, I would definitely go with a white shank. I most definitely like the yellow or, even better, the rose halo. That would be absolutely TO DIE FOR!!!!!!! Pink IS my favorite color. It depends on the color of the diamond though. Is it more golden or does it have a champagne/rose tone to it? You'll have to play around with the actual stone to see if the rose gold color will compliment it or the yellow gold better.

Who makes that stock split shank/halo? That would be difficult to have as a stock piece because pears are each shaped so different. And to think of all the time and heartache I got trying to get my rings made for a year! Sure would be nice to be able to buy the setting and have the stone set, that's for sure. This is going to be a fabulous RHR, Angel.

ETA: Can you tell us more about the brown diamond, Angel? Colored diamonds are fascinating to me.

Well I have decided on the white halo with yellow diamonds on the top. The diamond is a brownish that''s flashes red tones it actually quite beautiful (never thought I would like a brown diamond). On the setting my jeweler had it and it fit the diamond quite well. On the specs of the diamond all I have is this .56 si 1 excellent cut and polish. I have a close friend that does estate jewelry and gives me excellent deals on gems and wonderful pieces of jewelry. I''m getting a new digital camera and I will post more pics.
