My birthstone is citrine.
About 5 or 6 years ago I bought my 2 citrine rings. I couldn't decide between the 2 so my hubby got me both :)
The 1st for your viewing pleasure is a stunning trillium cut like I've never seen Madera Citrine! It's a Jaqu de Lili ring. I love it!
Show me you Citrine jewels :)

Both are stunning, congrats!
I don't own any citrines, yet....

I think citrine is a very underrated gemstone, your Madeira is particularly lovely.

Thank you. I agree Citrine is underrated. It us a lovely bright color though that can be worn really well with white, black, blue, green... I love my Madera Citrine! The cut and color are so unique I've never seen anything quite like it before or since.
I wish some other would post some nice citrine pieces :)

I love citrine! I have my eye on a couple of stones online. Yours are gorgeous! Is the first a concave?

those are beautiful! I don't usually like citrines but I really like the honey gold colors of yours.

Chatoyancy, I'm not sure what you mean by concave.

I'm sorry, I never saw my alert. I didn't mean to be non responsive. I answered my own question when I recently attended a gem show and bought an amethyst in the same cut as your citrine. It is a concave trillion. If you run your fingers along the back of the gem you'll feel that it isn't smooth. I think the lapidary cuts several little lines in the back of the gem. Hopefully a lapidary can explain it better than I can. Sorry!

Beautiful Citrine rings Josee! If you get a chance I would love to see hand shots.

Wow. Your Citrine rings are stunning. :lickout:
I definitely have a soft spot for that first one...wowza!

Your stones is gorgeous ! and ring is well done too. WOW I love the setting.

ok , Let Me try to explain concave.

Concave faceting is a new faceting technique where we use rounded facets to cut a stone , This results in more brilliance, but the weight loss is more than in normal faceting because we cut more out of the Stone.. here is a concave cut Ceylon hessonite garnet that we cut.

if you see closely you can see the concave facets cut into the Stone.
Face-up this is the result.

Normally Sapphires and expensive Stones are not concave cut as weight loss makes them uneconomical , also its better if the gem is at least over 2 carats as if its smaller the cut will not be as visible.

The larger citrine would look good in a yellow gold pendant. That wouldn’t be as expensive as a ring to set, especially if you already have a weightier gold chain. The “smaller” citrine (still big) would probably look great in just plain yellow gold. Maybe, you could put a smattering if small diamonds, but I don’t think a halo would do anything for it.

I love citrine!

Here’s one of mine that I bought a few years back. The cut is called ‘all triangles’ as every facet is a triangle. No idea what to do with it, but it looks pretty. 8)

Deathspi: love your stone - an artwork. =)2

Ok, here some hand shots I took this morning.

Wow!!! Wow wow wow that is gorgeous!
Is it your birthstone too?
I think it would be gorgeous as a pendant =)2
Either on it's own or with diamonds.

Wow, I love your big trilliant ring, it looks AMAZING. It’s huge, wow. I bet people grab your hand and say OMG, now THATS a ring!

 lol
I've only worn it a few times I'm afraid o_O it is quite big and I have small hands. I should start wearing it more.

Thank you! :))
Citrine isn’t my birthstone, amethyst is, which is nice since purple is my favorite colour!
I like your suggestion about a pendant with diamonds. I think it’s way off though as I have too many stones to set as it is!
Love all those hand shots by the way. That trilliant is huuuge! :D
