I''m just curious. The reunion coordinator for my husband''s class contacts everyone pretty regularly with updates on goings on (in a good way). They use classmates.com, but only for general stuff. Lately I''ve been getting email at least once a week about someone looking at my profile, but I don''t have anything much on it, not even my married name. Do you think it''s wise to put much into on them? I''m leaning towards not so much, but I''m mildly tempted. There are a few girls I''d like to get in touch with and didn''t see them at our last reunion.

I would not put much info on there at all. I get those e-mails like twice a week saying that 3 people from my graduating class have looked at my profile, or left me a message; and the website don't even have my real name... (I was looking for an old friend, but didn't want my info on there, so I used a fake one). They just want me to buy the packages, so that I can "see" the ppl that looked at my profile.

You can do free searches though... if you are just looking for specific names, or the years you attened a certain school.

I signed up before my reunion and forgot to cancel in time, so I''m still on there, so I can look when they tell me somebody signed my profile. I swear to you, I''ve only known ONE of the 30 people that "signed" it. I think it''s a bit of a scam personally. Facebook is free and much more widely used.

Facebook has worked so much better for me. Like the poster above said its free too

I was going to reccommend Facebook also, but it does depend on the age bracket. I have sisters that are in their 30''s and they have no idea what facebook is. However, they are more inclined to search on a free account from one of the previously mention providers (ie, classmates.com, etc.)

I am registered on classmates but I never look at it & probably get mail from them but it goes to junk mail. Someone contacted me via myspace about my 10 year reunion I''m totally nosy & have looked up several schoolmates to see what they are up to. Myspace & Facebook are good for finding people.

I registered years ago but never check it now. I agree that Facebook and MySpace are more widely used and a good way to find people.

I use Classmates.com all of the time. We had our 40th class reunion last September. Yes I know, I am an old grandma, ha ha ha ha ha.

A lot of us reconnected through that sight and have dinners every few months now. I love that site.

I did classmates about six years back and ended up meeting up w/three friends from high school that I hadn''t spoken to in years. I soon remembered WHY I didn''t stay in contact with them after graduating! People never change

MC,

I thought the same thing. DH and I attended my 40th high school reunion last September. It was a huge turn out.

I had a wonderful time.

The "clique" was no longer the "clique" They talked to everyone, ha ha ha ha ha. They had finally grown up and were nice to everyone. Where as in high school they were snobs.

In the 60''s my dad was a celebrity and they spend a few hours talking to me about him. They didn''t realize I was the celebrities daughter and they were in shock. My friends and I thought everyone in school knew, who my dad was, but they didn''t. I really got a kick out of it.

I had to say they changed and I really enjoyed talking to them. But......... we are all going to be 59 this year, so it was about time people had changed ha ha ha ha.

BTW, my dad was a DJ in San Francisco at a well known radio station.

I like myspace, have reconnected with so many people from my past. classmates is ok but seems they keep saying somebody looked at my profile and I have no clue who they are. Haven''t tried facebook yet but will when I get home (blocked on my work computer). How about that, they actually want me to do work while here!!!!!!

I used a cartoon characters name as I wanted to see how it worked. No one I MEAN no one ever attended my school with this name, and yet...guess what there are at least 5 inquiries every two weeks.

When they first started there was no fee. You could post and read and email and contact for free. It is different now, and several of my classmates have dropped out...so I think the general consensus is ...not so good.

Great way for cartoon characters to socialize though.

I use Facebook, now that I''m back in school, but I''ve been hearing some scary stuff lately about what information is stored and used from it.
