We had our offer accepted tonight on that really nice brick home. We are super excited. The couple there now is supposed to know whats going on with their next house within the next few days, but they really have to know by the 30th. Stupid contingencies. But assuming their realtor is correct, they should be settled before Friday. We don't close and take possession till November 18th.

Congratulations! It is so adorable and warm. AND wow!! look at the yard, the hard wood floors- beautiful. My guy and I are looking for a place to buy right now. Unfortunately, that same house in LA would be over 1/2 million or much more depending on location. Looks like we're going to have to start in a condo, but we'll build up to the house

One suggestion - if you did some landscaping in the front w/ bushes by the foundation - that would make this house a home run. And, line the walkway w/ "monkey grass". It's really cute though. Things do work out for the best.

We offered about 6K lower than their asking because we know it was about to be lowered. They countered 2500 lower than asking and then we came up 2500 from ours which was 1K below them, they met us. I think their realtor said that he convinced them to accept because we have to sit on pins and needles with this contingency on their other house they are buying and that we have to pay rent another month til we can occupy. That must have done it.

The woodwork is stunning, it was a requirement for me to buy a brick home with great wood, they put carpet over the wood in the two bedrooms because they didn't want area rugs. I might tear up carpet in one of the rooms, ours, because I would prefer an area rug. I am hoping my uncle can let us in Saturday or Sunday to take some more inside photos because the wood windows match the bookcases and fireplace. Its really stunning. The bathroom is so retro. haha I know we are redoing that anyway. My dad might do some of the work over Thanksgiving since we will be in Dallas for that. He will have time without us annoying him.

I think we might paint and stuff when we can get in and then start moving his stuff in because he has to get out of his place before the end of Nov. I can go whenever. My folks don't care.
