Hello!
I recently won this vintage Tiffany sapphire and diamond ring from an auction house. I had the perfect band (also Tiffany) to go with it to wear as an alternate wedding set.
Well after I got the solitaire ring sized and put both together I saw that the prongs on the bottom and the gallery on the top rubbed together like crazy.
I was like Goldilocks.. first I tried a plain white gold wedding band as a spacer and it looked too "fat" to me.:roll
Then I tried a very skinny spacer from Etsy and it was too thin to do the job.:roll
I thought and I thought.. and realized what I wanted was a clear rubber ring to go in between as the perfect spacer.
I looked silicone wedding bands online but they were too thick.
Then I went to the plumbing department of Lowes and I found just what I was looking for but they were only available in black. That wouldn't be good.
I now knew the size I needed and what they were called.. O-rings!
I googled and googled and came up with a company that sells O-rings for ear gauges in clear rubber!!
Ordered them lickety split.. they came yesterday and I'M THRILLED!!!
JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR.
My story has a happy ending.. awww.
