There is a story that goes arround that everyone knows almost everyone in the world by a link of 7 or 8 people they have met...
Here is an article that stikes home this concept, with a more personal touch as this is my High School and my home town (I grew up in the Prairie du Sac half of "Sauk Prairie"). I will mention that I left the area decades ago - but still travel back and meet up with freinds now and again.

As far as the link by people: The Tom Andres quoted in this article is almost certainly my classmate. Which puts me at a link of 2 people to the NUI shooter: I knew Tom - and Tom knows Steven.
I may even have known people in the family: There was a Kazmierczak family with kids in school when I was in high school.
