Color change garnet 3

Color change garnet, 0.71 cts, Madagascar

This is one of my favorite color change gems, since I was told in my gem studies that garnet comes in every color but blue. Well, this recent discovery in southern Madagascar shows a blue garnet!

Thank you so so much for posting this. I had heard about the madagascan blues but all the photos I saw were very greyish (like a very poor quality pale iolite in colour).

I didn''t believe they could be THIS blue!

Absolutely beautiful stone. I am very, very jealous!

Can I ask how many years you have been collecting?
