We came across this ring at an estate jewelry store recently. The cabochon turns from purplish blue in daylight to deep pink in incandescent light.

I believe this might be a color change sapphire, but I don't know if real sapphires can exhibit this kind of change, or if it's more likely the stone is lab created. Help please.

Likely lab created, it looks too huge and clean.

Exactly what Ii was going to say TL!

Not to mention, I never saw such a crystal clear sapphire cabochon, and in a rough wasting cut like a round. Sleepy, included or star stones are usually cut into cabochons, and even then, mostly ovals.

Plus the gas bubbles I think I can see in it too. A synthetic something would also be my guess.

It does.

Everything about this stone is too good, but indigo - magenta change is possible; I would expect the colors to be somewhat mellow - of lower saturation...

I am not seeing clarity relevant characteristics, have rarely seen such crass examples to show up without a microscope & taking pictures of them is much more of a chore than seeing...
