Hi everyone! I''ve been a member of PS for a while now since my FI and I started looking at rings but it''s my first time posting over here. We''ve been engaged since May 07 and are planning a May 08 wedding. Our colors are pink and brown.

My question is concerning the invitation colors. I''ve picked out an invitation with pink paper and espresso ink. We''ll also be ordering rsvp cards. The invitation and rsvp will be mounted inside a folded piece of brown cardstock. To close the cardstock "folder" we''ll be wrapping pink ribbon around it and closing it with a small square of white cardstock with our monogram on it. Make sense so far? :)

On the inside of the folder, the invitation will be mounted on the right side and the rsvp card/envelope will be on the left. I''m attaching a ribbon with glue dots and tying in the rsvp card. We were planning to have the rsvp card on white paper with espresso ink so that we could tie it to the cardstock with pink ribbon. I didn''t think a pink card tied with a pink ribbon would look right. But I''m also afraid the white will be too stark on top of the brown paper since our invitation doesn''t have any white on it.

I really can''t decide what I want to do. I guess I could have the rsvp match the invitation and try to find brown ribbon that matches the brown cardstock folder. This is hard because I just can''t picture it.

My other alternative is to just tie a brown ribbon around the invitation and rsvp (both in pink with espresso ink), put it in the envelope, and leave it at that.

Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

What about using an ivory instead of white? Do you think that would look a little more soft than stark white?

It definitely would look less stark. However, I guess I''m just weird in that everything thing else for the wedding (my dress, linens, candles, etc) are white so I don''t want ivory on the invitations. :)
