1 month and 10 days until SO and I move to Colorado! He already has a job lined up working at a country club and I am still looking and I think we may have found an apartment to share with his best friend so things are going good. I''m just wondering if any of you ladies are from the Colorado area and might have any tips in general to share :) I''m getting very excited!

Where in CO?

I believe Dreamgirl lives in Denver...

I''m in NM, so I''m no help really, but soon we''ll be state neighbors!

That''s so exciting! I''m looking to move to Colorado within the next six months. But like you, I''m also still looking for a job there. What type of job are you looking for? We can swap tips. Check out the Denver Business Journal for there job links. Good Luck on the move.

We're moving to Littleton, CO
I've been looking on craigslist and denverjobs.com which tend to have a ton of listings everyday. I'm looking for a job in graphic design, video editing, or 3d animation or modeling; but I applied for my dream job of testing video games 40 hours a week so I'm still waiting for hear back, I only applied yesterday. Also my sister lives in longmont and does computer programming so she has a lot of connections and is helping me amp up my resume. Im gettin super excited!! Cant WAIT to leave fargo!

Where in Littleton are you moving? I''m from Littleton originally and only moved away because I attened college in Dallas (but my parents still live there so I go home often). Littleton is a great area. I LOVE IT!!!

SO is gonna be bartending at the columbine country club and we''re looking at an apartment on coal mine ave. which is supposedly right by the golf course

i''m in littleton, but i''m no lady in waiting, i''m the guy and just stumbled upon the thread =P so it might be snowing a little by the time you move then.

Yeah! Colorado is SO wonderful and I couldn''t be happier living here. I don''t have any great general tips but I would be happy to answer any specific questions. Good luck

its ok if its snowing by then, im from fargo, thats no biggie for me haha
it almost snowed here the other day already- lame!

im just wondering like what are the good grocery stores to go to? what is there to do for fun around the area? (i already know we''ll be doing LOTS of camping and i saw theres a waterpark nearby, also SO will get free golfing whenever for him and one other person at the country club)...what places in town should i avoid that might be shady? stuff like that

it''s not snowing here (yet), but it''s getting chilly at night.

I can''t wait for snow! I live up in Boulder and the Flatirons are BEAUTIFUL with a little "powdered sugar" on them!

Woooooo. I''m in Denver!!!!!! I''ve been here for almost 5 years and I''ve loved every second of it!!!! Can''t wait for you to join us!!!!!!

ps. the local paper best for job hunting is the westword. not sure what the web site is, but google it!!!

Littleton is awesome! You''re really going to love it. My aunt and uncle live there, and it''s really a beautiful place.

I lived in Littleton growing up...I''m in Thornton now (about a 1/2 hour north of Littleton), but I loved living Littleton!!!

I don''t know if there''s too much to do acutally in Littleton, with the exception of a few local bars, but since the light rail is right there it''s pretty easy to get downtown.

As far as places in Littleton to avoid...I don''t think your going to have a problem with that. Littleton is very suburban. I haven''t really ever found a place that''s shady. It''s one of the more expensive neighborhoods to live in b/c it is so safe.

You''re going to really like it in CO...It won''t take long till it feels like home...

Yay how exciting!! Littleton is great. That is a great area you are going to be moving to. As far as jobs go....I just landed my dream job as a graphic designer and I have to tell you that the industry and competition here for a graphic design job is VERY tough. Im surprised I got this amazing job after finding out that there were over 100 applicants. I can't believe they chose me!!

Some parts of Littleton are growing and growing. So there actually is quite a bit to do out there these days! Plenty of SHOPPING too which I love. I enjoy going out to Littleton, there are TONS of places to eat around there.

Oh, and I almost forgot- All the towns are so close together in the Denver Metro area that you can get to one place or another in no time at all. It's pretty cool. Im sure you will love it.

Oh man, seriously? A friend of mine from high school told me just the opposite! He said it wouldn''t be too hard to get a graphic designing job because people are always looking to hire. Stupid boys, don''t listen to them. Luckily my sister has been sending me updates every 5 minutes about my resume or my portfolio of things to update or change (she used to be a graphic designer recruiter) it''s to the point where i can hardly keep up with her suggestions, but I''m sure there will be a point when she loses steam. You should see my to do list, it''s almost all graphics or web related (with the exception of disguising my apartment to look like a cat has never lived here because it''s been inspected tomorrow, ugh

wow, i think i needed to vent about that, i feel better haha

Really? While there are jobs out there, its hard to land one. I went to a design seminar in Denver back in March and there were over 1,000 designers there. I though HOLY CRAP!!!

I'll never get a good job! (I had a pretty bad one back then) but luckily I got this new job (this is my 3rd day here!) I am so lucky to have gotten it!!

Im quite sure you will find something. It just may take a while. But who knows, maybe your perfect job will become available very quickly!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you for sure!
