Colored Stone E-rings/Eyecandy

So I finally pulled the trigger on an engagement ring. I don't have it in hand yet but here are a couple pictures. I will post comparisons once it arrives. This is from Jill at ColorSymphony. I will have to see how bad the window really is when it arrives.

How does it look?

Truthfully, I don't love it. It looks too much like a blue topaz. The window looks pretty big. I hate writing such negativity, but I thought you might like a different perspective.
My comments made will probably start a riot on this thread. Sorry.

It'd be best if you started it's own thread. This thread is exclusively for pictures.

2ct greenish yellow chrysoberyl with baguette accents.
Its a chameleon.

new photo, and one of my favorites! the sapphire goes darker in super white restaurant lighting, but I like how the chunky facets get to reflect under that sort of lighting too - so it's a bit of give-take.

Oh my goodness, that pink asscher cut spinel ring is gorgeous! My mouth fell open when I saw it.

You have a good eye! (I love that one too)

It's not my E-ring but it's my Promise ring that I currently wear while we are waiting to get engaged ::)

I saw somewhere in this thread that someone else has the same ring! :o lol

I swear these photos don't do the sparkle of the topaz justice! :blackeye:

Here's a Tanzanian sapphire (AGL heat only) with two chrysoberyls. The sapphire is 2.4 carats and the chrysoberyls are 1 carat each. People have seen this before, but I liked how it was back lit by the setting sun in this photo. I'm wearing it with my platinum/diamond ring. The platinum is brushed metal, and a bit nicked up, but I love the heft of the band, and it's a fun ring to wear.

Various loose stones I need to one day do something with.

These all range in size from 2 to 1/2 a carat. The green stone all the way on the right is a half carat, but the most amazing neon green color. It looks like green Christmas foil, almost metallic. Photo was taken in artificial light, as it's raining today. They look better in sunshine.

All these stones are extremely well cut, and the second one from the left is a precision cut gem from Gene.

From left
Pale lavender spinel cushion (the only stone in the bunch that's badly cut)
Afghan mint tourmaline cut by Gene
Lavender/lilac spinel cushion (no grey at all)
Princess cut Tanzanian neon chrysoberyl
Bob Kast precision cut aqua (greyish blue)
Portuguese cut Tanzanian spessartite around 2 carats.
My favorite little diamond cut tsavorite.

This stone is not the best cut, but its an orangy pink spinel, and it has no brown whatsoever. It looks more orangy pink in person, and I am highly considering setting it. I wish it was sunny outside. Photo taken with artificial light and partial natural light (rainy day) coming in. It's really a nice delicate orangy pink color and around 2 carats.

Wow, TL, never get tired of your photography or your stones. I love the orangy pink spinel, but my very favorite is your violet cushion spinel with no grey. Really, really lovely. I'm sure I've said it many times, but if you ever decide to part with it, please let me know. :praise:

Thanks Minous! Others have asked me for that cushion, but I could never part with it.

I know they have, as this is not the first time I've asked, heh heh heh. I was just hoping that like me, your memory might be going, and you would suddenly have the strong desire to send it my way...

Not mine :( , and it was sold before it was for sale, from Blaze at El Dorado Bar mine. Thought I'd share - a Jerry Newman cut 4.61ct unheated sapphire.

Beautiful stone and colour!!!

I think you should not set it and instead sell it to me :cheeky:

Thanks Cymone and Kama. Maybe I will start a thread.

Not often we get to see rubies as ERs! Congrats to you and revel in your ruby. :))

Here's my little collection. Excuse the finger prints on the garnet - it took considerable effort to get them to all line-up without exposing tilt windows.

Why you little stinker, acting all like you didn't know what you were doing! What a great collection - you clearly have a good eye. Yummmmm... :cheeky:

Saw my e-ring on the first page from 2005! Can I update with my wedding band 9 years (and 2 kids) later? 8-)

Taken in a car (as a passenger) on a rainy day.

And a ruby that my wonderful mom gifted me. Worn with my mother's pear. I think the rings look best worn together.
According to the cert, pear is slight purplish red and round has slight orange in it. Both are just over a carat. Heated I am sure. I did talk to the lab and they said fracture healing/filling would have required additional commentary on the cert beyond the "enhanced in normal processing" verbiage. But who knows.

Taken on the same day as the sapphire.
With an iPhone.

Dibs on the first 4 stones

foxglove, your rings are beautiful! Your sapphire looks like its held up well and the rubies are bright, intense and stunning. And yes, that is right - if either had any more invasive treatment, it would be so noted on the lab report. :))

Hahaha, I wish! Many of these were bought second hand, so I do depend a fair bit on experienced PSers. I did buy the spess on the far left and the Mahange next to it on my own.

I have a yummy purple-pink Ceylon sapphire coming to me this week too ;)
