TL, the color of that tsavorite cab is downright dreamy, I love green colored stones and that is such a rich shade of green…I am really enjoying your pics! You have a lovely collection for sure!

Thank you Junebug. You are very sweet.

Here's some of my reddish pink spinel I took today outside (well, in my car outside). I was never able to capture the true color of this gem that well. My camera kept washing it out. I think I have the white balance correctly set now.

It's around 1.5 carats in a diamond halo. Pretty boring and typical setting, but its traditional.

TL, your setting is not boring! It is classic and really makes the stone pop! i bet a lot of folks mistake your ring as a ruby! Beautiful. :appl:

Thank you Lambskin, and I think a nice red spinel looks a lot like a ruby. A novice can't tell them apart.

I appreciate the kind words. :))

Mochiko, is that a JuliaB? The setting is beautiful and intricate!

Mochiko,
I would also like to know who did the ring, and please provide a side (gallery) view if possible. Thanks! The bezel is very well done, which is difficult to obtain.

Yes, I was wondering if it was JuliaB too…or perhaps another Etsy vendor? I have been looking at Julia's items lately, some of them look very pretty and I have been considering purchasing something from her. Your ring is beautiful!

Thanks :) Yes, good guess! Both the spinel and the setting are from Julia B. The spinel is set in a 14k rose gold setting. It's quite a warm stone but somehow it looks a bit grey / lavender-blue in my photos -- need to fix the white balance on my phone camera!

I would say that the bezel and milgrain are very detailed and delicate - much more so than the vendor photos. The rose gold works very well for this spinel and I'm loving it a lot! :) :)

Here are some more pics I took today:

Amazing, very nice work on the pave! I have one one my way from her as well :D

Ditto. It's good to see PSer's views of the actual product and I have to say it stands up to scrutiny. I will definitely include her in my list of vendors to get quotations from for future projects.

Hi, TL. Good to see your lovely gems here again. Even for me, I would have mistaken your spinel for a ruby if I ever saw it down the street, especially if set in that blingy diamond halo setting.

Thanks Chrono,
Here it is from further away, where you can see more purple in it. My pearl is next door. I always do close up shots because I hate my hands. That's my steering wheel it's resting on.

TL, I looked at the pics of your spinel before reading and I just assumed it was a ruby! It is gorgeous, what an amazing color, and it looks perfect in that setting. *junebug experiences a twinge of jealousy :saint: *

Thanks Junebug,
I think everyone has such gorgeous gems and jewelry in this thread. It's fun to share eye candy.

Here's my other spinel from far away. I have to get this set soon. I'm dying to find the perfect setting, want a repro antique style.

1.53 carats pinkish red (AIGS)

Windowed cushion violet spinel. Bad cutting, but I love the color. Around 1.4 or 1.5 carats (can't remember exactly). Second stone is a 4 carat blue spinel cushion in a diamond halo.

Cymone,
I don't remember your thread. Was it in Colored Stones? Lovely tourmaline.

Thanks OTL, but it does have a window. Here's a shot of it with my mint garnet flaked with pink spinels and a sparkle shot. I've been bored and a little too camera happy lately, so please excuse my lack of modesty overrunning this thread with pictures.

The garnet is badly cut as well, but I love the color. It has a lot of blue in it.
