I have seen this photo of Morganites on Nomad's Facebook. What is the more popular colour for the morganites?

These guys ought to know: WWW

[I cannot drill through the GIA website at the moment ... If I could, I'd be looking for their descriptions of beryls from a fantastic collection they acquired not long ago - WWW.

As far as I know, the cold purplish-pinks [the largest pile in the shot] are seen as interesting & particularly fine, but Morganite is mostly known for the relatively warm straight pink [the four smaler piles around the largest]. In either case, saturation is The Big Deal, since Morganite is often too light.

depends on your personal taste I think. On gemval the orangish tones are priced a little bit higher then the pink tones. But always depends on the intensity of the color and tone. The less the color gets normally also the price is dropping... I personally like the pink tones more then the orange ones...

Usually the more saturated unheated pure pink tone commands the highest price. However, unheated, morganite can be so pale and color can be better seen in bigger stones. Heat takes out the brown modifier that makes the peachy tone and the peach morganite usually occur more in unheated form than their pink counterparts. Most pure pink morganites have been heated so many prefer an unheated peach to a heated pure pink.

The heart shaped Morganite at the American Museum of Natural History is the best one I have seen. It has a vivid saturation that I have never seen in other Morganites.
