Completed my First colored stone project...

I discovered PS a few years ago when I decided to buy my own diamond engagement ring upgrade. I have been reading and learning and flipping through forums and posts. This place is as addictive as Pinterest.

Well, I bought my diamond, and also started collecting some gemstones.

I Started with a garnet, I love pink...found a setting I liked and the rest is history.

My garnet is a 2.79 carat 8.8mm, Umbalite precision cut by Jeff Davies. When I got the stone I was disappointed at first it as I thought it was quite dark, but has some personality so I kept it and had it set...

First picture is incandescent light next three are indirect natural light. It’s a bit of shifty didn’t know to look for that when I purchased, magenta-y, salmony, a little brown. But the cut makes up for it, I think.

I am browsing for natural untreated ruby stone. I found some good options on GemsNy (https://www.gemsny.com/ruby-rings/search-ruby-gems/), but I am nervous about buying from them because of some bad reviews. Has anyone here purchased gems from GemsNY? Are their gems natural? Are you happy with your purchase? Any other recommendations?
