Completely off topic, totally random but I’m excited!!

As of yesterday my mom is a citizen!! She just called me to tell me.

She is very excited. It was one of her life goals and she did it! I asked her what’s the most exciting thing about being a citizen and she said:

1. She finally gets to vote
2. She doesn’t have to wait three hours in the visitor line at the airport when she comes home from out of the country

What an accomplishment - many kudos to your mom - I have heard that test is very difficult and most natural citizens would not be able to pass it.

And kudos to her for going through the process! I''ve heard from friends how difficult and dragged-out the whole process can be! I live in a border state and we have a lot of people who have come here wanting all the benefits of being an American citizen without doing everything that is required to actually become an American citizen, so believe me when I say I have the utmost respect for those who patiently jump through all the government hoops to attain citizenship!

The process was very long for her but she was determined. She was the first one in her family (9 other siblings!!) to come to the states at the age of 19. My family did everything legally which unfortunately meant being away from their family for years before the government allowed them all to come over (my aunt was away from her kids for 5 years!!). But they feel it was all worth it.

As far as the test goes...my mom found it funny that I didn''t know a lot of the answers to the questions

One night while she was here studying, my boyfriend set up a game show with me, her, and my two brothers. He gave us points and everything. We all lost
