I could be asking this question in the wrong forum but I know there are a few non-LIW who still return so I guess this is directed toward them.

I know several ladies on here shop with their BF''s for their rings but have any of you just showed him what you wanted and then the rest was left up to him? Did you have your hopes on a SPECIFIC ring and if it wasn''t what you had hoped for were you excited or a little disappointed?...

I guess I''m just a little nervous that when my BF actually does go out looking and get a ring that even though I''ve showed him EXACTLY what I am wanting (after looking at probably THOUSANDS of designs and not liking any of them exactly the way they were) I finally found THE ONE I want but it needs a few modifications... and although I''ve showed him a few times and told him what I would change on it... that it won''t be what I''ve got in my mind and that I won''t be happy with it.

Maybe I''m just overthinking it!

he wont let me help pick it out. he says that it is his choice and this is all him. of course he will take input that i have. We have went ring shopping a few times and he has a pretty good idea about what i like. I kind of like that i do not know what it will look like. He is very well educated with all of the diamonds, settings, clarity, etc and i think that that is why i trust not knowing and being able to have a say in it. i definetly thought that there would be more ladies on here that were being surprised with the diamond but a lot of ladies are picking out everything about the ring with their ff. I think that if i had the choice i would still want him to pick it out for me. That just makes it that more romantic imo. I am looking forward to it. it just shows me that he can do something romantic and for me on his own. Very manly.
