Could I buy a nice enough jade bangle for under $350?

Mine broke years ago and it’s something I’ve been meaning to replace for years.

I bought mine off eBay. Pre loved. No certificates. One was $150 the other $200.
the $200 one has peridot set in 14k gold.9F50F40B-A638-4CD2-A334-39FB9193A370.jpegB52C691D-4754-42BB-85B5-2EACCE5BB978.jpeg
I bought them wholly on look. I doubt that they are grade A at those prices but because and despite my attempts to educate myself on Jade, it’s very difficult to understand the nuances that affect value.
obviously buying off one of the reputable Jade sellers like KathyJade would be more sensible but for my money I am very happy with my purchases.

Love @Bron357 bangle!!

I second @Bron357 at buying what looks good as long as price is fair also. I recently tried to buy a string of jade beads but gave up trying to sort through price/grading. I feel like buying good quality jade at a great price is not something I have the skills or time to devote to it lol, it’s a landmine out there in jade world.

I think $350 will get you something gorgeous. Good luck!

Here are a couple currently on eBay.com. All under $350 (I just searched $300 to $350 pre owned)
the ones with gold are 14kt. The one with two tone Jade is. black Hills gold in 10k.
the benefit with an already hinged bangle is it can’t break, like those with jade pieces.
if you want any item numbers, let me know.60CA871C-A13F-41C5-80FB-C70D4CA34ABC.jpeg71A1131A-D598-4FCB-A923-E0CF5114C23A.jpeg055B6C9B-27D1-4364-AA48-929D3A98080F.jpegB5524260-D442-48D7-B135-AFAC27E47087.jpeg

I bought one that’s nice enough on Etsy

This one looks so lovely! The colour is really nice.

In Asian culture a broken jade bangle or one with the hinge doesn't have the "protective" properties anymore. As jade is believed to protect the wearer.

I really love that last one  you are a whiz at eBay searches! I feel like I find lots of junk when I try.

@Bron357 Thanks! How can I contact you?

Btw does anyone have any opinions on Mings? I feel like maybe it’s just the brand that makes it expensive but again, I haven’t figured out jade.

What size are you and...
- what color/s do you prefer
- what shape? Ie princess/round, D, flat, etc
- jadeite or nephrite?

I think it’s doable and can try for A jade depending on what color etc you are aiming for

I’m not picky but I’d prefer round and green (but can be flexible). I don’t have a preference between jadeite and nephrite either.

If green, I think nice nephrite is doable. A nice grade A green jadeite would be difficult. But perhaps the PS ladies who frequent the Fb sellers can help.

Have you already looked at various online sellers like Ultimate Jadeite, All About Jade, Yok Dee, Kathy, etc? There must be a list somewhere but I only rem the Singapore and those I buy from off the top of my head

Also submitting for opinions.

I don't think this would be natural for this price. It may not matter.
You may want to try Nandar at Ultimate Jadeite. I also have had good luck buying cuffs and bangles from the Canadian Mines. The Jade Mine (also an American site). There is one seller on Etsy selling her personal collection that has wonderful bangles. https://www.etsy.com/shop/HarvesterGifts?ref=nla_listing_details she is off line for a little while though. I picked up an amazing Nephrite cuff from her.

I think I have the sister bangle to this

If you buy green nephrite I’ve been told that black spots are not desirable and lowers the value

Very helpful, thanks. That's a pretty green nephrite bangle.

Thanks! My white and green nephrite bangles. Mine has some black spots and you can see it is a skinny princess so if you are ok with some black spots and slimmer princess I think your budget is doable but will need some searching. You may want to ask the vendors via PM as they may have stock that is not listed.

I got mine from a FB seller. It was about that price and I was very happy. I’m no connoisseur, though, just wanted a piece of jade in my collection. Look for “Myanmar jadeite bangle wholesale” on FB. They were very helpful, good messaging, extra photos provided and honest description all included.

Edit- they are also called Jasmine Jadeite on FB and have a website. I asked about a bangle on FB, they listed it on the website for me and I bought from there.
