could use a little shoe help, too

i''m on the hunt for shoes, and it''s a challenge. my dress is attached, for reference. i''m getting married oceanside in march. now comes the hard part: the ceremony will take place on grass. so, i either need a wedge or at the very least, something non-stiletto. I''m leaning toward gold. any ideas? i''ve scoured the usual suspects: nordstrom, zappos, piperlime, gotham online - not finding anything that''s blowing me away. help is much appreciated!

I would keep trying Zappos- their catalog changes all the time. Also, I like Solestruck.com. Their shipping/return policy is the same as zappos, and I've always had good experiences with them!

Before I'd actually suggest any specifics, we'd need to know your style. Do you want something funky? Traditional? Girly? Vintage?

Do you know if you want open toe or closed? I also had an oceanside wedding in grass and changed from my 4-inch blue stilettos into some 4-inch gold wedge flip flops after the ceremony. I was on my feet all night and they were super comfy. I found my gold flip flops for $10 on victoriassecret.com.

I definitely want open toe. Gotta let the little guys breathe! Did you wear the stilettos on the grass? You didn't find that they were sinking in? That's my fear.

and, to answer the other question... i'd say my style is a classic and trendy with a bit of a funky edge - but nothing crazy. i've seen a number of pairs of gold sandals that i like, but i've been fearing the heel-grass combo.

I have never used shoes.com but my friend likes them. Be aware that wedges are generally more summery shoes and so most of the ones I listed were on clearence.

I really thought the heels would sink, but they didn''t--the ground was even wet! I had the wedges with me "just in case", but luckily didn''t need them. I had a long processional through grass, then up some uneven stone steps and then back to grass, but never sank.

I didn''t have any problem at all with the wedges throughout the reception (also on grass) they were very comfy and obviously sinking in the grass wasn''t an issue at all.

wow - the nina and the laundry are great - but they don''t have my size in either. what a bummer! this is the problem with trying to shop for a winter destination wedding... not enough warm-weather options.
