Countdown to engagement...

Well, his ''deadline'' is Valentine''s Day, February 14th, so I thought I could start a countdown. I''m actually really hoping it''s sooner than that, but I don''t really care, either ways, the proposal is coming SOON! And boy do I want to see my solitaire from Whiteflash... S likes to tell me how pretty it is. I think he likes to see me in this kind of agony.

I''ll count today, so it''s 17 days left!

So true, I''m having a lot of fun! I''ve told a couple close friends that he''s got the ring.

I know he''s planning something fun for the proposal, so I''m looking forward to it!

BigT, I think you''re right, it probably won''t be on V-Day, though I am planning to give him some nice gifts (I''m calling this project "The Ultimate Hipster Boyfriend V-Day").

Oh wow, I don''t know how I would have been able to stand it if I had known the proposal was coming within a few weeks! Enjoy the anticipation, I remember daydreaming constantly about the proposal and the ring when I knew the ring was being made, it was so much fun!

Well, yesterday was countdown day 15, but I missed posting it. And today is 14, but I think today might be IT!

There''s this local annual fundraiser which is kind of a big party that all the rich people in town get dressed up and attend, and they call it Mardi Gras, but every year it has a new theme, and all the proceeds go toward helping the poor and downtrodden in the community. S''s mom is an artist, and she did the mural artwork for the gala last year (theme: Venice) and this year (theme: Alice in Wonderland). We helped with both murals (I''m no artist but I am really excellent at painting large swaths of color, like sky and grass

) and for our help, we got free tickets last year.

When we found out yesterday that we got free tickets for the Saturday night event, I was like, "Ack! I need to borrow something to wear from my sister!" Later, S said something about wanting me to have something else to show off on Saturday night.

So, maybe this evening is the night? S is in class right now, and I''m dorking around doing homework and my taxes! Oh man, I am so lame, but so excited!!

I need fairy dust, ladies!
