Hey Courtney,
I remember you just had your makeup trial at MAC and you looked smashing! I was planning on getting my makeup done by MAC as well, but there are no stores in my area, only counters at the local department stores. I went to schedule my appointment today for my wedding day, and I also asked about scheduling a trial. My wedding isn''t till July 12th by the way, but I''m OOT and was hoping to schedule my trial for the next time I will be in town. Well, they could schedule my appointments with no problem, but they couldn''t guarantee that the same person would be working each day because they don''t make the schedule that far in advance. Basically, they told me that they wouldn''t know who would be doing my makeup until the end up June when they make the July schedule, so my trial would have to be sometime after that.

It made me a little nervous that I won''t know who is doing my makeup until then, and it will just be whoever happens to be on the schedule that day...so I was wondering, did you schedule your appointment with someone specific, or just with whoever was there? And was your trial with the SAME person who will be there for your wedding day? And how far in advance was your trial? Finally, did you have to buy $50 in products for your trial as well as for the day of?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but if I''m going to need to make a special trip to town just for my trial, I will be really unhappy if I have to pay for the trial as well as the day of.

I scheduled my trial and day of application at the MAC counter at Macy''s. The mall is close to my venue, so I picked that location.

The girl who applied my makeup happens to be a manager, so she''s going to schedule herself on the day of my wedding. I would just ask at the trial..I''m sure they can make it happen. Or you could even get the girl''s card, and hire her outside of MAC. Buy the makeup she uses as your $50 purchase. Which brings me to the next question, yes I bought $50 in makeup for the trial and I will for the day of also. I had my trial 2 weeks ago and my wedding is July 25th, so about 4 months early.

Good luck! I hope you get an artist as good as mine! Bring a picture if you can, that''s what I did.

Oooh, so you purchased the $50 in makeup but didn''t have to pay for the actual application? That''s perfect--I buy their makeup all the time, I think I''m going to use MAC for my wedding, too.

Thanks for the info, Courtney!

I''m also going w/ MAC for my june wedding. I actually called the MACY''s MAC counter closest to where our wedding is taking place and asked if anyone does bridal make-up that would come to me the day of the wedding. They put someone on the phone right away. I did go to the counter last month for my trial and bought the $50 in product and had my trial w/ the girl who will come to the house the morning of the wedding. So just something that may be an option for you!

Thanks! I think I will try calling and talking to someone who usually does bridal makeup, because the girl I talked to when I went to the Macys counter looked like she just graduated high school and had an attitude that I did NOT want to deal with. I can''t believe some of them actually come to you! Although I think it will be easier for me to just go to Macys because our hair salon is at the mall, and we will probably stop off at the food court too!
