I started looking at diamonds recently, both cushions and ovals, and that exact facet pattern is on the modified cushion brilliant.
For example, see third pattern in this image: http://www.diamondsourceva.com/Education/images/Cushion-facet-patterns.jpg

But I didn't see any ovals with it.

Jadx - Oh Very interesting!! Thanks for sharing those pictures. I've been only looking at ovals and was puzzled when I saw that pattern. Wonder went wrong/differently so that it had that cut on the bottom but was classified as an oval???

I found this oval with the same pattern: http://www.zoara.com/diamonds/p_oval_excellent_cut_f_vs2#p=5177489
GIA report lists it as an Oval Modified Brilliant and Fancy Greyish Yellowish Green: http://pics.zoara.net/images/products/certificate/5177489__oval_excellent_cut_f_vs2_certificate.jpg
I would like to see that one up close.

I like it. it really keeps the bow tie to a minimum. The middle looks like a round cut. But you do lose out on the larger center facets.

Greyish Yellowish green... wow, I would love to see that as well. I'm fascinated by these ovals cut like some cushions. I'm new to the diamond search as well, I would love to know if that classification of Oval Modified Brilliant is a "thing". I haven't seen it before but I also haven't been looking for it.
