Hi CB,

So I posted a setting idea that I thought might interest you in your thread. But to satisfy your curiosity about iceberg... its going to be in platinum (my first piece in that metal

) and I have opted for two baguettes to enforce the architectural and clean geometric lines that I prefer. Try to imagine the finish as being satin. I have seen both the silver "wax" and the actual cast platinum. Now all I am to wait for is the actual stone setting job for next week... I totally can't wait!!! What do you think of the design? My desire for a halo is to protect the girdle, but if this is the *it* stone, it has a med/sl thick girdle so I don't know why I'm fussing! Part of me wants a truly naked stone, I love the look but I'm so paranoid because I'm clumsy and rough on things...

Oh I dunno how many stones I'll actually get to see... I just hope I love this one and of course as is usual oregon fashion, it went from 90's and sunny to drab and overcast today with no sign of sun ::sob:: how am I going to check the sun factor!!??

What toys do you have? you have an idealscope and an ASET - do you have tweezers or those ring thingies? I'm ordering stuff today but I'm not sure what I should get!


How well do your stones do in the fire department? And how high are the crowns again? Oh and which stone is yours - mt dew or iceburg? is your mom's stone being set also?

I don't know if I can stand the wait until tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

I can''t wait to see it! It looks very well protected and will go so well with the lines inside of your stone!!! The prongs you have are perfect. I think if I were going with anything wider in prong I''d just go full bezel... for me... but this ring looks very handsome!! When do you get it????

Thanks! I always have a good time photographing these pretty objects. My mom likes the ring alot so I feel like my work is done with MtDew... well at least until I inherit it someday

Be careful with those blacklights, they can cause eye problems (cataracts) so eye precautions are never a bad idea

So a little update... I spoke with Mark T this after noon and the setting and finishing of my ring ought to be done by late tomorrow, so if all goes well, Friday morning is when I''ll get to see Iceberg in its new permanent home! My fingers are crossed that it actually happens this week, I''ve been planning, waiting and obsessing over this project for far too long! Pics to follow as soon as I get my precious back

Great photo. Do the side stones have fluor? Or is that just a plain black light you used?

Actually one of the side stones is med-strong blue fluor but it is on the other side so it doesnt show up. I've been getting requests to get sun shots of MtDew so I'll include those here in a bit
