I bought loose tanzanite stones and blue diamonds in Afghanistan in 2014 (I was in the army stationed there). When I returned home, I had them made into jewelry using sterling silver settings. The gems were appraised and are listed as 1.25 carats each (7 total) tanzanite and .25 carats each (blue diamonds). The appraisal also says the gems have superior color, cut, and clarity. Final appraisal for the 2 earrings and tennis bracelet was $11400 in 2014.

I have never worn them and I’m looking to sell. I can’t find an auction house or jeweler who’s interested in them because they’re set in silver and not gold. I also can’t find anywhere online that is interested in gems other than diamonds. Anyone have ideas????? 36076111-72B5-4021-98BF-0342F2B3A91C.jpeg

You can try listing on Loupe Troop and the pre loved thread on here.

Be aware that appraisals are usually way overinflated. I suggest before listing, do some research and see what the size and quality of the stones are going for to get a approximate sellable value, or go by what you paid all in all.

They are beautiful, good luck with them!

The appraisal is extremely inflated. You will not be able to sell for anywhere close to that, unfortunately . The blue diamonds are likely heavily treated, and tanzanite is not a particularly pricey stone. To be completely honest, I would be shocked if you could sell for more than 2k.
