Good Morning Ladies! I did exactly seven miles, I was tempted to go around the block once just so it would not be an even number. No clue why. Anyway I put my weights on this morning (15lbs) and went. I really think walking refreashes me more then sleep. I feel happier.
I hope ya''ll start off the day with a positive mood as well!

Well done MAT!! SEVEN MILES

That''s awesome!!! Are you nearly at your goal yet, if not it can''t be far off!! I am trying to drink 4 pints of water a day, it''s hard going but I am sticking with it
14.gif
I much prefer diet soda

Sadly I am up 5.5lbs from my last weigh in. I tried the whole not weighing myself 10 times a day thing and clearly that is a no no for me. I need to see the numbers to motivate myself to exercise. I am 35.5lbs away from my goal.
I like water but I

Diet Coke.
4 pints a day is a good bit to be drinking, do you get most of it in while exercising? My waterpack holds 2L and I drink half to the whole thing while I am walking.

I pint first thing, then .5 pint mid morning, .5 before lunch, same mid afternoon and before dinner, early evening and mid evening. I try for little and often, I am one of those people who can drink a lot in one go which helps. During exercise is great too. That is a shame that you are up 5ibs since the last weighing, you have been working so hard. Try not to let it get you down and persevere, remember scale weight can fluctuate quite a bit and at certain times of the month. You will lose the 35lbs soon I know. Try to think in smaller increments maybe such as 10ibs for now, and also the good habits you have got into will be a big help.

Thanks Lorelei! You are right! Do you have a goal in terms of weight? Or are you doing the healthy lifestyle thing?
I am 165.5 pounds, 5''5". My end goal would be 120 pounds but I have not been there since 6th grade. I would like be 125-130 for my graduation in May. I set that goal in August...at 175. I need to stop hanging out with my friends, they are strongly against dieting and will try and convince me to go to eat or to watch a movie rather then exercise. I go home in three weeks for Thanksgiving. I want to be 155 or lower. I know if I push myself I can do it. Makes me want to go and exercise again now...but I am dressed for classes already and its raining. This afternoon though!

I am maintaining right now Mat, I have lost a few pounds this summer which I wanted to do, I am where I want to be now which is great, I have to be careful I don''t overdo it as I am quite tall at 5.9 and I can never seem to know when to stop according to DH! The water is for weight maintenance and my skin, I do drink too much diet soda and am trying to cut back. I know it is hard when going out socially, just think of all the hard work you can undo and stay strong. When DH gets fast food I go for a diet soda and a salad, not the same but at least it''s something! Don''t let your friends deter you, why are they against people making healthy choices and doing something good for themselves? Maybe they are a tad resentful as you are looking so great! Keep on with what you are doing, it is so worth it! At Christmas for 3 days I am going to eat what I want and I am looking forward to it
3.gif
, the only problem ( well sort of ) is that I can''t eat as much anymore, but I am sure I will manage somehow
11.gif
I also keep a very close eye on fats and avoid them where possible, it''s odd, fatty food makes me gain weight far quicker than sugar - maybe the body metabolizes it differently.

I havent worked out FOREVER. But i am on my way to the gym now. My friend is meeting me afterwards and we are going to try on wedding dresses. So maybe that will be the inspiration I need to get back on track. I was 139 this morning, which is just frightening. SO close to pushing over that 140 mark again, and I''m just not gonna do it!

Mata, you are always so good. How is core secrets? do you love it? does it make a difference?

Wow, Matatora I''m proud of you for being so dedicated to getting fit. I was planning to do the same, getting fit, that is. I am 160lbs, and 5''3". I have lost about five pounds since beginning of Oct. I am just so busy I hardly find the time to excersize. But one thing thing I do every week is play touch rugby with a bunch of freinds for about 2.5-3 hours. Its loads of fun, and I''ve noticed alot of muscle toning since I started. I hate "working-out", but I love to play sports. Its pretty much the only excersize I get, except for walking all over town, which doesnt really count for much. Anywho, good luck with obtaining your goals!

Wow! Everyone on here is just so nice, it is amazing to me how much support is offered and given here.
face16.gif
I have made this offer to a few people via PMs and what not. I am a huge believer in the buddy system. If anyone wants a buddy PM me and we will figure out what works. I know how hard it is, clearly. If anyone feels like that would help just let me know.

Mrs Flutter, I do like the CS DVD. It is working my arms and that is always a good thing, I am prone to "chicken cutlets".
Shazebone- Have you thought about getting a pedometer I find when I wear one I walk farther even in my daily routine.
Lorelei- Way to go, maintaing is not easy either!
36.gif

Thanks! That is the hardest part really but I try to be conscious of keeping as active as I can - walking around town DOES count for a lot Shazbone, I often think it is the small permanent changes we make that help the most, and also I try to make the smartest food choices I can through the week and relax a bit one of the weekend days but not go mad! Also it is so important to find an exercise you enjoy - I can''t do much due to my back
14.gif
but caring for the horses helps to keep me fit and I use an ab belt which is great.

Wow... so many responses already to this thread!

I did not workout this morning, bad girl that I am. But I did yesterday and my back is really sore, which is weird, since I didn''t do any weights. Maybe it''s the arm part of the ellipitical trainer that''s working them.

I''m going out to dinner tonight, but with a friend who is very health concious so I won''t be tempted to pig out. It will be nice to have a drink or two, since I''ve been doing well holding back in that.

I have no idea how much I weigh. I don''t own a scale. I always put 155 in the machines, because that''s the heaviest I''ve ever weighed myself at. I have a feeling I"m proably more, but I''m terrified to check. I am, however, wearing pants today that I was very afraid wouldn''t fit. They fit pretty comfortably, much to my delight. I won''t lose a lot of weight before I go away (11 more days!), but my new goal is for end of December, when I go to Florida to visit my bf''s mother who is super thin and fit. I''ll never be like her, but I want to be a better me.

Great job everyone!!!

good morning! i went to the gym today as well! i needed to start off my month in a good way. i didn''t go yesterday = although i intended to- becasue it was my vacation day. i sleeped in a couple of hours. i haven''t posted much lately because october was a horrible workout month for me. i went a total of 6 times. How horrible!
40.gif
i usually go 5 times a week, so you know that was a horrible month for me! so i hope to get myself back on track this month. the weird thing is that this morning i weighed myself- i swear the scale MUST be broken!! i was 3 pounds lighter than usual.
33.gif
my goal is 5 pounds and i KNOW i am not there yet!! my clothes don''t fit different and i feel ** fat **. anyway....i did 25 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes doing weights.

i did find through these last few months that writing down what i did each day in my calendar helps TREMENDOUSLY!
36.gif
for example, today i wrote C:25 W:30. and i circle it. that way i can look back and see what i have or haven''t been doing.
28.gif

Great job ladies!!!

It is amazing the responses to Mat''s thread today, maybe the thought of Thanksgiving and Christmas looming! Lots of motivation there to keep working at it so we will look great for all those parties and to flaunt our blingage
9.gif
I don''t own a scale either Amanda, I have found it very self defeating for me in the past, not to knock those who love seeing the needle drop - I love it too, but I found I was getting WAY too obsessive with it. Therefore I binned the scales and concentrated on how my clothes fitted and how I looked and this was a far better way for me, might not work for everyone but for me it was liberating. Also I am one of the unfortunates whose weight can fluctuate wildy which drove me nuts

ewe! ME TOO! and i hate it! i fluctuate 5 or so pounds. and the crappy thing is all i want to weigh 5 pounds less. so at my lowest of my fluctuation is actually what i wish was my highest. i just don''t seem to get there. it''s frustrating because i am sooooooooooo close. Ah!

anyway= i don''t own a scale either. and at the gym i only weigh myself MAYBE twice a month.

I know it''s SO unfair, but that is best to weigh only occasionally and keep going! Nothing like a 5lb unfair weight gain when you don''t deserve it to take the shine off your day

You have a great attitude AP!

Lorelei and Jcrow- I wish I could give up having a scale, but in just over a week I managed to lump back on five pounds...When I go home, I get on like every ten minutes. Im nuts.

Hey everyone!

Good job keeping up the walking Mat!

I haven''t been so good. I''ve been slacking off on the working out part. When I weighed in on Sunday morning, I gained 0.2 pounds, which is not as bad as I thought it would be. I was planning to work out tonight, but my mom just called me and said it was my grandma''s b-day so we''re going out to dinner. We''re going to a buffet!! Yum, but not good....hee.

Sam and I bought some tennis rackets and jump ropes yesterday. We''re planning to play tennis once a week, so that''ll be some more opportunity for me to work out.

With Thanksgiving around the corner.....I need to get a move on and shed some pounds!!

I haven''t worked out, but need to. Maybe y''all should try to measure inches instead of pounds.

Matatora, I bet your weight gain is mainly water retention and will drop shortly, that's what I found, it will hopefully level out in a few days. Interestingly I have often heard that drinking MORE water helps as if the body tissues are kept very well hydrated they will release excess water more easily and not hang onto it. Worth a try and that is also what I'm up to with my 4 pints as I suffer fluid retention, always have

It is soo cool to see so many of us dedicated to loosing fat.. can i make a suggestion? i am 5''8 and i am 153 lbs.... i have lost about 4 lbs but i have lost over 15 inches of fat through out my body... i know this is a hard thing to let go of.... weighting yourself... but it makes sense... sure you can loose weight.. but it could be water weight or whatever... if you measure yourself and track inches lost (fat) you would be much more satisfied... but again that is just personal opinion...
example.... i had weighed about 145 a year ago.. and i wore a size 10/11... and now because i am tracking my inches lost... i am 8 lbs more but inches smaller so i am in a size 8.....

how you ask... lifting weights.... you wont get bulky... plus you will maintain and build muscle that burns more fat... plus imagine how good you will look in your wedding dress....

like i said it is my opinion and it has worked great...

Even though i made it to the gym today, I am terribly depressed looking at the pics i took of me in wedding dresses. I thought I looked good in the store (or at least okay) but god the pics are aweful! Granted the dress was a size too small so I look all bunched up in it....but it is still so frustrating. Need to loose 10 pounds by xmas and by the time I go back there! Yuck!

You can do it !!!! just post that motivating pic somewhere... thats really like a pound a week!

I'm so excited about this thread!! I used to be so good and do 45 mins cardio a day plus weights before going to work and I had so much energy and the last 2 weeks I've become just a lump on the couch, literally. Hopefully you guys can keep me to it. I'm looking to lose only like 5 pounds at most but more to get into a healthy habit since heart disease runs in my family.

Oh, and btw it is totally possible to have 5lbs waterweight--did you eat salty or starchy food? Or if you dont drink enough water, your body will retain water, and you will weigh more. My weight can easily fluctuate 5 pounds, even in one day!

Hey Ladies!!
35.gif

I totally need motivation to lose 10 pounds for my wedding in June! Mind if I join you all?

Ms. Flutter, I think you and I are in the same boat
2.gif
. I bet we can do it together
1.gif
.

I just got back from a 3.5 mile run with some friends. I''ve recently become quite enamored with running, never thought that would be possible for me!!! Trying to lose that last 10-15 lbs or so. Currently 5''8, 157lbs, and a size 8 or 10, depending on who made the clothes. :)

Well I found a conversion chart...and in ozs I am drinking about 50-100 in the mornings and usally about 200 by the end of the day. I do not think lack of water is the issue. I dont drink any sort of beverage with calories, it just is not worth it to me. Oh well. I will get there.
