That would be stunning -- the rose gold would bring out the pink undertones. I wonder if Richard has more. Would you mind taking some pictures of the stone on white paper?Date: 5/12/2007 5:44:35 PM

Those pics don't even BEGIN to do it justice, either! It's so sparkly.
I'm having it set in a simple rose gold band. I wanted to do channel set pale pink sapphires in rose gold, but I got a quote from whiteflash that was a little beyond what I can manage at the moment.
This danburite definitely has stronger pink undertones than the one I broke, but I love that. It's a fun and gorgeous stone.
That''s ok. I''m about to order one from Richard. Btw, what size is yours? I''m terrible at gauging sizes and would like to know how big I should go.Date: 5/13/2007 12:17:30 PM

Thanks Skippy! I can wait to have it set.
Harriet: unfortunately, the digital camera is FF''s, and he''s gone abroad for three weeks, with camera in tow.So I can''t take any more pics until he gets back. Sorrryy!

OK, my Danburite is set! I picked up the ring yesterday evening and I''m very, very pleased with it. I''m glad the jeweler talked me out of the pink gold as the stone really speaks for itself. It looks just GORGEOUS.
As soon as I get access to a digital camera, I''ll get you guys some pictures. For the meantime, it''s a 2.5mm wg band with four prong Tiffany style head (do you still call it Tiffany style if it has 4 prongs?). The setting fades into the background and all you see is this humongous slightly pinkish stone sending off masses and massesof sparkle.
Truly a beautifully cut gem. THANKS RICHARD!
The only big drawback so far is that the slightest smudge on the stone really shows. And people keep TOUCHING THE TABLE when they look at the ring. WHY do people do that?!
