Thought I''d start a new thread since the two of us keep threadjacking other people''s threads!!!

BTW, you were reading my mind. I was about to post bugging you about the video. How is it? Do you love it?? I checked Spencer''s blog and there are couple new ones on there that make me tear up.

I''m getting married at Bridgewaters...and can''t believe its now less than 6 months away.

And girl, will you post pictures of all your rings already???

Ha ha....I know, I have to get to the pics....Hubby said he would help me (I am so pathetic) as soon as his grad school work winds down...I am totally clueless!!!

MH and I considered Bridgewaters for our wedding too...We loved it, but in the end chose to have it at another venue b/c most of our family and friends are from OOT, so we didnt want it to be a PITA for them to get to, you know? Its a great place though....When's your date??

OMG...the DVD....I cannot stress to you how great it is. Everytime I watch it, I bawl....even MH shed quite a few tears when he saw it for the first time (although he wouldnt want to admit that, LOL). It is just so well done...it really is amazing what a great videographer can capture...They are true artists, and I am so happy we went with them!! Spencer was absolutely the sweetest....so were the videographers on the day of....they were so totally nice and completely professional.... we didnt even know they were there!!!!! I am so happy we ended up getting a DVD...we were considering going without, but in the end decided just to do it....And, now we have something to treasure forever.....You are in awesome hands...

How is the ring search going? Any updates?

It''s August 22. Yeah, we''re a little worried about OOT guests and traffic (it''s a 7:30Pm start), but we figure the ones that are here are making a weekend of it so they''ll just take a cab down and deal with it. We don''t have that many people driving in luckily.

Oh, you''re going to have to get Spencer to post a snippet so we can see it. I''m so excited to hear they did a good job, though I have to admit, I''m not surprised! Have you ever been on his "high end" site...I think its called Iris Cinema or Iris Creations. Spencer actually does all the filming in those. The videos there are AMAZING! Just curious, what song did you guys use?

As for the ring search, Mark has been so fabulous and patient with me. Unfortunately, he''s only been able to find one stone that''s in our budget and meets most of the specs. The problem is, it''s a little smaller than I was hoping for. I''m debating on whether to just get it now so I have it for the wedding, and then resume the search afterwards for something even bigger.

At that point, I''ll be working and will have a little more to put into the budget. Any thoughts?

Did you guys ever do that get-together in the city right after Xmas?

Ohhh...its great that you are doing a 7:30 start, and that most of your guests will be in town...you'll be fine!

Hmmm...I just checked the blog, and we aren't on there!!!

On a stranger note, I was watching the first snippet and was like, "Wait! I recognize that groom!" Turns out I went to grade school with him...what a small world!!! Looks like he had a lavish wedding! LOL!

I have never been on Spencer's other site...didnt even know it existed!!! I just know him and his team are AMAZINGLY TALENTED. As far as the songs....we left it all up to Spencer (he said that is how its normally done). All in all, I think he used about 7 or 8 songs throughout the 1/2 hr long video....Believe it or not, there was a song or two that MH and I didnt recognize, but were still so great and appropriate....Its funny, b/c we- especially my husband- are really great with music- as in the hubby can hear 2 secs of a song and tell you who sung it, what album its on, what yr it was released, etc. Some of the songs he did use and we did recognize were from John Mayer, Shania Twain, a little Beyonce..its wonderful...

Hmm...as far as your ring....What is the size of the stone you are (somewhat) considering? You still have awhile to find a stone that really is to your liking before the wedding. right? I would probably wait until you find a diamond that you are completely happy with, otherwise, you will always have regrets....What kind of setting are you going to go with once you get your stone??

eta: No, we never did that get together....Why dont we plan something soon? I'd love to meet all of you IRL!!!

We should DEF plan a get-together but after I get my ring!!

Are you talking about the Capitale wedding? That place is amazing. We looked at it too and it was crazy expensive and elaborate!

I was wondering if he picked all the songs. I think my fiance asked him that when we interviewed him because he really liked all the songs on his demo. It was definitely one of th reasons we chose him.

The stone I''m (sorta) looking at is a 1.66cts E SI1 cushion, but I was hoping for something a little closer to 2.0cts. So I''m torn between two ways of thinking. The first is, if I get something closer to 2.0 then I''m less likely to upgrade in the future (or at least for a longer period). The problem with this is Mark said stones between 1.75 and 1.99 are really rare because at that point cutters tend to just cut a 2.0. The other is side is, the 1.66 would be like a "placeholder" until the fall when we can get above the 2.0 where there are more options. My fiance doesn''t really like this idea though because he thinks I should get something I love now and if I choose to upgrade later that''s fine, but if I get something I semi-like then I''m going to definitely upgrade. I do think either way my ULTIMATE goal is around 2.5 carats. And when I get that, I''d LOVE something like Tiger''s east west buttercup head/pave band from Leon or the mini-halo with pave band from Mara''s trip to Joe Escobar.

To complicate it more, the type of cushion I''m looking for is really hard to find so Mark thinks the 1.66 has been the best so far. We''ve been looking for about 3 weeks.

Hmmmm.....kind of like my situation...my EC is 1.75 cts....I had my heart set on 2cts too, but honestly when I saw another 2ct EC next to my EC (when we were looking) I really did not see a difference in size between the 2 stones at all. I guess b/c my diamond has really great spread...definitely looks to be around the 2ct mark, and we didnt have to pay that huge premium....Where I started to see a real difference in size compared to my stone was at the 2.3 ct and up mark....My ultimate goal will be 2.5cts too...but I will have to wait awhile for that...which I am fine with, b/c I really love my ring, and we have like a million other things right now that are more important to be spending our money on than my upgrade...Plus, we've only been married for 6 months!!! So, plenty of time!!!!

Mark is great and he has an awesome eye, so I would think that if he is reccommending this stone, it must be beautiful. And, 1.66cts is not too shabby either, sweets!!!!

Have you seen this particular stone in person? Did you love it? If the answer is no, then I would just keep looking...But, as far as the upgrade, you truly have plenty of time to get to your ideal size, you know?

As far as the GTG, I would love to plan something soon, like in the spring (within the next couple of months)! That would be so fun!!!!

(Yeah. the wedding on the blog I was talking about was the Capitale one). It looked like a crazy expensive wedding!!! Did you see the bling on that chick??? WOWZA!!!!!

I did see it in person, and it was a really pretty stone. I don''t think I loved it the last time I saw it but only because I was so caught up on size. I went to Tiffany''s today and tried a 1.6 on (PS- that markup is RIDIC! It was $36,000+.) and it actually looked pretty good size wise. And I''m pretty sure Mark''s has a better spread. I''m going to go back the week after next and take a look again ... with a fresh eye, ya know? Maybe what I need to do is what you did and take a look at it next to a 2ct. with similar l/w ratios and if I don''t really see that much of a difference to not worry...and upgrade a little bit down the line.

Oh, I think I may have tried on your band today too...is it the bead-set w/ milgrain eternity, 3mm? It was GORGEOUS and blingtastic. FI loved it too. Maybe that can be our Tiffany''s fun..although that was $4600 (does that sound right?)

Um, and no I didn''t see the bling but am totally going back now to look!!

Let''s def. do a spring meet up. The city is awesome once the weather starts getting nice! It''ll be great 5th Ave walking weather!

Yes, I totally agree....go check out that stone against a 2ct and see if there is really much of a size difference. I bet you there wont be....In reality, if its a pretty stone and you love it, I would go for it...since you would probably only see a size difference between that one and a 2.25 ct and up the way I did...And, unless you have the budget for that size right now, I think the 1.66 will be great!!!

I actually have the Tiffany Novo band....I think its different than the one you are talking about (I am thinking you are referring to the Legacy band, which is really pretty too...But in the end, I liked the Novo better, at least with my e-ring. MH and I also have plain platinum milgrain bands from there..we really love them too...

Lets def plan a GTG in the spring....that would be so fun! I love NYC and wish I could get there more often...I am only 45 mins away, dont know why I havent been there at all that much lately....its really one of my favorite places!!!!

I''ll keep you updated on how it goes with Mark.

I think we''re going to get plain matching bands from Tiffany''s. I just like the idea of a matching set for some reason even though I''m really untraditional...

Oh, I forgot, you''re in Denville right? I actually lived there for a few years before we moved to Bergen County.

Ha ha, that's so funny....I actually grew up in Denville, but dont live there anymore....my parents still live there though.
MH and I live in Somerset cty now (Bernardsville/Bedminster area) and we love it!!!

I love the matching bands too....there is something so nice about them....although MH's band is actually not the exact match of mine...his has double rows of milgrain, but its still really nice. Mine is just a plain milgrain 3mm band, but I really like it alot. I actually end up wearing that band the most- its the only one I will wear to work, but I am thinking I am going to stop wearing it there too, b/c its starting to get scratched up- I am a nurse, so my hands are constantly getting banged around all over the place. Its so not fair that I cant wear anything nice while I am working....

Oh well!

Just went back and looked at that Capitale wedding. HOLY CRAP! She has a massive rock on her hand. And those boulders on her ears must be 1.5 cts each!!! AND THAT bracelet. I wasn''t a huge fan of the dress though.

LOL!!! I know!!! Guess he (the groom) must be doing very well!!!! But it looks like the bride comes from alot of $$$$ too- you can just tell. What a wedding!!!!
