I have had a very productive weekend. I decided on my dress, a venue and a date. I thought i would share it all. Oh and I decided to purchase my invitations instead of making them myself so I have pics of those as well =)

It is finally official.... October 18, 2007.

And the place:

We are getting married in westlake village which is in Southern California about 20 miles from my apartment (hopefully this will make visitations and such easier)

I have included links to our reception and ceremony site below. some of the details are a little off (the floor plan dimentions and sketch are completely wrong on the room we are using) but the pictures are pretty accurate. The arches on the ceremony site are a little different since they now have Jasmine flowers growing all over them but its the same basic idea.

Unfortunately, the links have one picture that changes to show different views so I was not able to just paste the picture here but for those who have free time and feel like looking they can go to the links below and see the different views.

Link to ceremony site: http://westlakevillageinn.com/tuscan_garden.html - I am in love with the long archway I will be walking down

Link to Reception site: http://westlakevillageinn.com/wine_cellar.html - the room is actually on top of the lake all open (no windows) with little alcoves that go out over the water.

Here is a pic of the dress I will be wearing, it is a Maggie. The only change we are making is that I will not be wearing the broach in the center of the dress. I have pear necklace that has a string of pearls going down the center that I will be wearing (first gift from BF) which was a little overshadowed by the pin on the dress (which i thought was a little cheesy) I am more of a simple/plain elegance kind of person =)

And, to keep things all together I will repost the invites I feel in love with.

The blue is very close to the blue i will be using and the horizontal ribbon will be beige but the vertical ribbon will be brown (our colors)

I got the samples from the maker last week and the colors look great IMO

ooooh I am finally getting excited

Oh, Gwyn--your dress is BEAUTIFUL! I can''t wait to see pictures of you in it! And those invitations are just lovely. It sounds like you are going to have quite an elegent wedding.

I know some people won''t be going to the site so I found two small pics I could share

here is a picture of the ceremony location (without decorations)

It doesnt show the walkway (for that you need to view the picture show on the website) but it does show the altar area where we will be standing

And here is a pic of the reception room (it is set up with small tables)

Sorry for all the pics, im a little one track minded at the moment lol

Gwyn, I haven''t posted in a while, but I had to respond to your new thread...I grew up in Westlake, and I LOVE the Westlake Village Inn. One of my closest friends was married there about 3 weeks ago. I was VERY VERY impressed with everything about her wedding. The site was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, the food delicious, and the service incredible. Her reception was in a different room, but I''m absolutely certain that you won''t be disappointed with ANYTHING. Congratulations! I know you will have a beautiful wedding! (I got married at the Skirball Center in June...I would have considered the WVI, but didn''t think their rooms would be large enough for us).

Gwyn,

Lots of beautiful choices! The stone pillars? fireplaces? in the reception room are the same as those in my house, I LOVE them.

Thats funny. I looked at the skirball but with only about 50 people, everythign was too big for us lol.

Im glad to hear good things about the food. We have not had our tasting yet but we did eat lunch at their restaurant and liked it.

Thank to haven and kimberly too for you''re kind words. It is nice to have people to share these kinds of things with that are as wedding-minded as myself =)

I actually thought the food at the wedding was better than what I''ve ordered at the restaurant in the past. Significantly better! And I don''t know what exactly you''re going for, but my friend''s wedding was SO elegant... They had the palate-clearing sorbet served in between courses (can''t remember what the real name is!), and I was just so impressed by the service. I know I''m gushing, but I really am excited for you!

(We ended up having 191 at our wedding so the Skirball was perfect).

Do you know who you will be using for vendors? We had a FABULOUS woman do our flowers/coordination. She is incredible and will organize basically anything you want her to do... She is a bit expensive, but worth EVERY PENNY!!!

We have not picked out our vendors yet in terms of flowers, cake, DJ, that kind of stuff. I would love any suggestions, especially ones you have had first hand experience.

Hi Gwyn,

Everything looks gorgeous! Your location is just to die for!

Just checking, but I hope you meant to say 2008, because if you can get all that done in 3 days, I will be mighty impressed, my friend!

Wow, that was such a good idea, why didn''t I think of that LOL.

Thanks! Now I can email some pics over to one of my BMs who only uses the internet while at work and doesnt like to go to personal sites =)

Don''t ask me why she feels fine doing personal emailing and not webbrowsing =)
