David's work is soooooo pretty!

After months of working on this we are almost there!! The question is do I add melee on the sides of the halo or not? (Not on the shank, on the actual sides of the halo.) I'm leaning towards yes! Thoughts?

I'm super pleased with how white the center faced up being that it's a 2.53 center GIA L/IF.

Beautiful ring! For me personally, adding diamonds to the sides of the halo would be a bit much. BUT this is your ring...do it!

Boy you can't go wrong either way. Beautiful ring! I love that you left the shank plain. I think if it were me I would add the melee to the sides of the halo. I think it would finish off the profile beautifully and really pop against the metal shank.

That's totally how I feel. Like it will just finish it by adding it in. I love bling but I love the simplicity and clean lines of a plain shank. Best of both worlds!

I love the plain shank because IMHO the diamond is big enough to have enough presence with the halo. You can always pair the ring with a nice band if you want more bling.

Oh my... this is beautiful!! My preference is to leave it as is; I like the contrast of the polished sides to the rest of the halo. However, I agree you cannot go wrong either way. Do what your heart desires. ;)2

Gorgeous! I say no more diamonds....I like the contrast without

So gorgeous, that's an L? Amazing. No idea what to advise about the extra diamonds, it will be lovely either way!

Wow, that's gorgeous, so white. To me it looks perfect as it is.

I also think it looks perfect as it is. It's really beautiful!

I'm going to go ahead and leave it as is for now and see how I feel after I wear it a bit. :)

Ok, so it's not just me that feels like it faces up whiter than an L? I worried about going with white gold against it but Amy said definitely go white and you won't even know it's an L. She was right! Seriously, they knew exactly how to make it pop. The side stones are H color and I had concerns that they would be way too white against it but it seems fine.

:)

Boy, it is HARD to believe that is an L step cut!!!!! Looks so white! I would do pave on the sides! Congrats on your new ring, she is a stunner!:love:

It's gorgeous!
I like it just the way it is. I'd say wear a sparkly band instead. You'll get more bling and you can appreciate it more that way.

It is gorgeous the way it is!

It is a very pretty ring - I too love the plain shank on the ring. All focus goes to the stone and halo!

That is a gorgeous ring! I would say leave it plain and wear a blingy band.

LOVE! It is perfect as is IMO. I love a plain (i.e. classic) shank with a gorgeous diamond. And I would pair it with a classic no diamond shank band. Clean lines + gorgeous diamond = Blingy Perfection.:appl:

I looked at it face down and thought 'leave it as is - it's perfect!' But when I saw the profile view, and saw the pave on the struts etc, I changed my mind immediately. I would definitely pave the side of the halo. I agree with your decision to leave the band plain, but I think for the sides of the halo, the bare metal is a tad stark, given that it has pave all around it *except* on the sides.

Gorgeous ring, btw!

What a stunning ring!!! I cannot believe your diamond is an L! It looks white.

Great decision to leave it as is. Personally I would add diamonds on the side of the halo. You cannot go wrong either way though. I love the contrast with the plain band. Gorgeous!!!

It's beautiful! Love the plain shank! Personally, I think it's perfect the way it is.

Very beautiful. Would look great either way.

It is beautiful the way it is, but if you want to add more bling-go for it!

I think it's perfect! And the L just looks so bright to me. Congrats on such a beautiful ring!!

I think that visually, it's beautifully balanced as is. Whatever you decide, enjoy your new ring!

Beautiful just the way it is! I find diamonds on the side of the halo to end up making the halo a bit chunky. I'm sure the masters can do a fine job of
it but honestly, I like your ring just the way it is. Put a pave wedding band with it and you have lots of nice texture between the smooth and pave.
I think DK did a great job!

I saw this video and thought it looked fab I owuld have never guessed that's an l

Why mess with perfection??? It's gorgeous as is.

Like others have said above I would be afraid that adding the diamonds would make the ring look less delicate.

Stunning!!! Can't believe that's an L! I love it the way it is :love:

Beautiful!!! Please post a zillion more pics!!! :appl::appl::appl:
