What can you folks tell me about De Beers Forever mark cert?

Thanks

That it's ridiculously overpriced?

Have you not called Wink yet?

From what I've read, Forevermark is a brand, so you would pay a premium to have that particular brand. I can't say whether that's a good or bad thing (I don't have a problem w/ brands in general), but you'd need to weed through those diamonds (and their specs) just as you would w/ any other stones.

I'll tell you, what's been a great help in my research has been running searches on the PS website. So, search "FOREVERMARK" and you'll see threads and posts from folks who've had the same questions (w/ expert's answers/input/discussions that might help). Good luck!

You're paying for a name (a LOT of money, hence my overpriced comment.) And just like Tiffany, Cartier, Harry Winston, Hearts on Fire, etc., that name is supposed to imply quality and assume that you can just select any stone from the list in your budget and get a winner, but it doesn't really guarantee it. So you have to weed through the numbers--assuming they really give you the nitty gritty prior to getting your money--and confirm you're really getting the greatness they're marketing it as.

When you buy something like a Crafted by Infinity, a Brian Gavin Select, a Whiteflash A Cut Above, a Good Old Gold Superior Hearts and Arrows (or really, any of their really incredible cuts of which they have many), and so on and so forth, you're getting a REALLY amazing stone, with an enormous amount of data provided for you, photos, reports, IdealScope images and ASET Images (which NONE of the big brands I mentioned in the first line there will provide bec they probably have no idea what those technologies are...Tiffany grades their own stones in house, even!). There's variance in those prices by vendor, but you know when you're buying one of those that you're getting the best, and some pretty stellar service, AND a great trade in policy should you want a bigger stone later. And you're also not paying the Tiffany, Cartier, Harry Winston, Hearts on Fire or Forevermark premium.
