Well - after much changing of mind we have decided on our venue to renew our wedding vows. (August 2009)

We had considered Jamaica and Italy before eventually settling on London! (I live in England anyway so its a surprise we are staying here and not going abroad as we planned!!)

We are booking Claridges and we are really excited!! Its a beautiful place and to be honest we thought it would be out of our price range.

We will have our ceremony in the Boardroom:

And our reception in the Clarence room:

Berkely Square is nearby for outside photos and Hyde Park is close too.

I get butterflies in my tummy whever I think about it!! That must mean its the right place?

Hi Maisie,

I''m so excited for you!!! It looks amazing! What happened to Las Vegas though? Maybe I''m wrong but I thought you were going to renew your vows on Vegas. Or is that just a vacation and not a vow renewal?

Maisie it''s gorgeous. How exciting!

In the early days we considered a few places. When we realised that James potentially couldn''t be left with anyone for a whole week we had to reconsider. We looked at Italy but I really don''t want to take him out of the country. Its a long way home if being away freaks him out too much.

London is 3 hours away from us by train. I''m so excited!!!!

Thank you!! I can''t believe we are going there!! We aren''t staying there of course - far too expensive! Lol!! We are staying in a small hotel on the outskirts of London. Its 5 times cheaper!!!

I bet! I lived in London for a (very cash strapped) year, and I remember literally not being able to afford to go to a friend''s place for dinner because multiple zones on the TUBE was so expensive! London is C-R-A-Z-Y expensive.

What a lovely treat to get married there, though!

Are you getting a dress? Will it be "bride-y"?

Ah but we have Oyster cards now!

Definitely get one if you''re here for more than a few days. I pay £22 a week for unlimited travel on buses, tube and trains in zones 1 and 2 - you can top up if you are going to another zone.

Claridges is gorgeous Maisie. Wow! I went there for tea for a friend''s henparty.

You must pop round to New Bond Street and oggle the bling while you''re there!

Absolutely!! I am really looking forward to wearing a 'proper' wedding dress!! Actually - I found out today that to renew our vows we have to get married again! Even though we are already married we have to give notice as if we are getting married properly! How exciting!!!

Well the plan is to go to Tiffanys and buy the bridesmaids their gift!! What a good excuse to go in and have a look around - I probably won't get near the expensive stuff but I don't care!!

We are planning a visit after christmas to go and see Claridges, find a florist and a cake maker too so any suggestions would be gratefully received Pandora!

Oyster cards, hm? I haven''t been back to London at all since ''99. Said friend lived in Zone 4. ZONE 4!!! There''s a reason that the shift key + the ''4'' key yields $$$. I''m shocked she was able to make it to class each day. Then again, it probably would have been way more to live in the central London (I had a sweet, free accomodation scholarship deal).

Maisie that is soooo exciting! Have you got dress ideas yet?

It looks great Maisie!!!!!!!!

How special Maisie! I love vow renewals! How long have you been married?

Looks awesome Maisie!!!

That looks positively lovely! What about an English Afternoon Tea Service for the reception? Afternoon Tea is one of my most coveted things to do...!

Claridges! Oh my. You lucky things! That is going to be one awesome day. Can''t wait to see some pics, Maisie. Sooo excited for you.

No no no! You didn''t pry. Please don''t feel bad. I know vow renewal is what most couples do after a long time of being married. Its usual to ask how long. I don''t mind.

I am very excited! Its going to be a beautiful day!

I have an amazing florist that I use for my work events - they're a young gay couple and so creative and nice (and good value for London). They will also do mock ups for you. They haven't been working for long - about 3 years I think - so they are big on customer service!

The thing I really like is that they listen - so many florists here just say, oh yeah we know what looks best in that venue so leave it too us and then turn up with really cheap looking flowers and bill me a fortune!

Their shop is called Igloo and they are based in Bermondsey St which is 7 minutes walk from London Bridge Station so very central. If you decided to go with them let me know and I'll have a word and make sure you get VIP treatment - I spend a small fortune every year and do lots of referrals there so they owe me!

Re Cakes - Konditor and Cook are amazing (based in Borough Market - 2 mins from London Bridge) and very addictive. They have a chain but it's very personalised. Otherwise I'm sure Claridges would do an amazing cake - Gordon Ramsey is there after all!

Let me know if there is anything I can give you info on or check out for you.

Pandora thankyou!!! I am very lucky to have you here!! I will definitely go and see the florists when I go to meet with Claridges. I am probably there just after new year.

Oooh how exciting!!!!
