ok ladies, i had went to the city to see ''THE'' ring set that i fell in LOVE with...and after seeing it i am STILL in love with the LOOK of the set...problem is that with the hieght of the metal from bottom to top of the band makes it thick enough that it spaces my fingers apart if my hand is set out straight and flat...i am SOOOO disapointed in this cuz i LOVE LOVE LOVE how the ring looks...its just all around so differant from anything else ive seen. So now im faced with the delema do i get it anyway and HOPE that i get used to the feel over time (feels bulky since its thick) or do i keep looking...ugh...I have enclosed a few pics...sorry for the comming multipal posts but i dont know how to put multi pics on one post...here they are...

Is it sized properly for you? Was it comfortable? This is something you will be wearing every day and you want to make sure you can do everything you need to do with it on. Can you type? Write? Everything else you need to do for work/school?

Personally, I think it looks a bit bulky between the fingers, at least for my tastes. It looks like it would interfere with my daily activities and that makes it not worth it. If it does get in the way I''d suggest trying on more rings. You might find one you love as much that fits your hand better.

Well, it''s a gorgeous ring :)

I will say though, I''m a bit overly-practical when it comes to jewelry. For me at least, I''d rather have a less-than-stellar looking ring that would feel comfortable on a day-to-day basis than to have a gorgeous ring that hurt my hand.

But, I don''t really know your style/preferences, so if you LOVE it that much, then keep it! I''d probably wear it around for a day or two and see if it truly hurts, or if it''s just not comfortable. You could probably learn to live with uncomfortable, but if it begins to hurt after just a few hours then you should probably consider some other options. You might also want to think about how hard you are on your hands during a typical day - I can see one sharp blow to your pinky jabbing that ring right into your middle finger - ouch!

It sure is pretty though...

I think if it bothers you a little just trying it on ... it will BUG THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of you in "normal" wear. Honestly, it looks very bulky on you too -- and the scale of the bands does NOTHING for the lovely stones.

The band is all FAT ALBERT and the stones are MARY KATE OLSEN.

I''d look for a more petite version of a micro-pave three stone setting. You can have a VERY similar & much more pleasant (scale-wise) look. DON''T SETTLE!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I would change the setting...It''s gorgeous, but it looks impractical and a tad bulky. I''m sure you''ll find something that you will love just as much!

im with chrono on this, if your not comfortable wearing it, then id say keep looking. you can probably find a similar setting that is a bit thinner, so that it feels better on your hand. but it is beautiful and you have great taste so im sure youll find something amazing.

It is absolutely gorgeous and unique, but the bulkiness between the fingers would be maddening. for a cocktail ring, i would do it, but for an everyday for the rest of your life ring, it would drive me nuts. just my .02

thank you all for replying...i know i know you ALL right...i love the style and look but its the bulkieness that kills me...i could prolly get used to how it feels, cuz it wasnt so much uncomfortable...as it LOOKS funny lol. My fingers are long and thin and prolly wouldnt look AS bad or be AS noticable if i had a lil more meat on them lol. Thanks for the replies...I was pretty sure i was gunna keep looking, but wanted some input.

off to find another ''THE'' one lol

I personally prefer thicker rings (my new upgrade is 5mm and wband 3mm, both comfort fit) but I think this looks too bulky. I think with the bulk and the added rough edges of the stones on the sides, it would irritate your finger.

Saphire Cutie- WHERE did you find that?!?! I love it! Maybe it will look good on my chubby finger.

It is a really pretty set, but I agree that it looks uncomfortable. If you love the look, you could try looking for a 3 stone pave ring that is slimmer and see how you like that.

Pretty rings, but I agree with pps...too bulky. Looks like you''d be banging the rings into things left and right. Maybe if you love that style so much, you could have them made with a thinner setting and band.

It''s a little bulky. Is that the right size??

DesignChica: unfortunatly it had nothing to do with the actual ring size

What it is, is that the amount of metal from the inside of the ring to the top where the pave is actually set is so high that it extends out so far from the finger itself. If they hadnt done the decorative holes etc on the profile then it woulda been fine, if they left that out

I agree with the others and I think it would bug the heck out of you (it would bug me too). Are there any other styles you like that aren''t are bulky?
