Diamond stud?

Hi all, I am a long time lurker. And thanks to all the wonderful information I've got to learn lots. And am still learning.

I'm an overseas buyer and have been in contact with ID Jewelry for a pair for diamond studs.
My budget is small at USD3000 (poor exchange to usd).
I already have a 1ctw stud so was hoping to see what I can find bigger.
I've previously purchased my earring jacket (also thanks to ps) from IDJ so reached out to them.
They came back with a 1.41 ctw AGI pair.
So initially I thought AGI was cert but after reading the board i realize it is only an appraisal. It's F colour SI but eye clean. And according to Lana from idj it is very sparkly and white.
No aset only natural light photo.
There is a 30 day return policy. But I'm overseas so it is a hassle.

I'm feeling a bit nervous coz it's overseas and I can't see it. And from what I read most of you won't rely on AGI. My budget is so small it wouldn't allow for GIA.

I'm not sure should I take a risk then get it checked out locally or wait and not rush into buying. Would appreciate all the help.

Well, you could get GIA certified studs, but they would have to be lower color (which those AGI graded stone will be lower in color and clarity anyway and you really don't know how well cut they are...). IDJ could probably source you J colors but I found these K colors...

What are the dimensions of your current studs? I might suggest thinking in terms of diameter vs. weight.

If it were me, I would not feel comfortable buying AGI stones. But you know your priorites best. At the very least I'd want them to give me HCA scores and some scope images to evaluate.

I have a pair (see avatar) from IDJ that are 1.26ctw and GIA XXX and HCA < 2 but spready - 5.6mm round each. I told Yekutiel that I needed very well cut stones but wanted to maximize size for my budget. He showed me a few pairs and I ended up picking some that are spready and 60/60 type which are a bit more oriented to white light reflection vs. colored light or scintillation - but that is totally OK by me in studs.

I paid a little more than your budget, but have G-H colored stones. I feel like IDJ is very receptive to making their customers happy - and doubly so if you can speak to Yekutiel directly.

Hi all, thanks for chiming in. Appreciate all the help.

I reached out to IDJ and mentioned my worry about AGI. Yekutiel came back with options of GIA certs. They are incredibly helpful and accommodating!
Attached are the Asets and GIA cert he sent me. What do you all think of this as a pair?
Tuckie, I just emailed back to Yekutiel with the as spready as possible scenario. Will see what he says.

These look like a nice pair and much better getting GIA graded stones...I'd just want to double check that the first stone ism eye clean since the crystal looks dark and is right under the table. It still might be at this size and on the ear!

I took all your advice. And emailed back and forth and back and forth with Yekutiel, He is great to deal with - recommend u ask for him if anyone buys from IDJ.

I feel better they are GIA too.

He promises it's eye clean. Faces up white. I was worried about the dark patch too.
I asked for double milgrain setting. Saw some beautiful ones here in PS and idj Instagram.

There is a 30 day return policy should I feel like it's not what I like. But I'm really hopeful it'll be gorgeous.
