Late Friday night, my FF and I decided to host the big fight at our place. I woke up early on Saturday and began cleaning and working from home. FF had a bunch of morning photoshoots so he was gone most of the day. When FF got home, we ate lunch together and shared the photos from his shoots with me. (Note: I love that we always take the time to eat at the table together for every meal.)
After lunch, I dashed out of the house to get all of the stuff for the party. Plus, I had to get my manicure/pedicure that I didn''t get the day before, get my eyebrows threaded, and get my ends trimmed. It is hard being a girl! I also had to pick up the booze, the food, and buy some chairs. I made it home just in time to set up and shower. The fight was a blast. After all of our guests left, FF said that he wanted to watch the fight again.
While we were watching it, FF started to talk about how sentimental and emotional he had been all week. He had gotten me flowers the night before. FF started talking about how much he was looking forward to our future, etc. He then started to tell me how much he loved me. (Note: I didn''t think anything of this conversation because he is just like that sometimes.) Then, he started to say "I love you" *kiss*, "I love you so much" *kiss kiss, "I love you I love you" *kiss*. He continued with this for 10 minutes and I''m not exaggerating. It was very emotional. Suddenly he stopped and said, "you are gonna be so mad at me." He left the room and returned with his hands behind his back. He said, "Legally, with one thousand ''i love yous,'' will you do me the honor of being my wife?" And he got down on one knee. I started crying. (Note: I couldn''t see the ring because it was pitch black but I didn''t care.) I nodded yes because I couldn''t find my voice. He waited patiently until I said "yes." And then he stood up and TRIED to get the ring on. My knuckles are slightly larger than my fingers so I had to help him out a little bit!
We were both restless for the remainder of the night. He finally drifted to sleep. I kept getting up and pretending like I had to use the bathroom to look at the ring. Then I started to cover my head with the covers and use my blackberry for light!
The proposal was completely spontaneous. He hadn''t even come up with a proposal yet. Afterwards, he said that he was overwhelmed with love and emotion and felt it was "the moment."
He had the ring since Tuesday or Wednesday. It actually took them longer to make then I thought but it only took a day for it to arrive from Maryland. Another day for him to get it from the post office. It took my Mom a few days to get it shipped because she was so busy with her real estate business. Do you know she was driving around with my ring in her car for three days?!

I didn''t really sleep because I was too excited! My FIANCE and I got up early and went to have breakfast at our favorite local restaurant for breakfast. Afterwards, we came home and he took a quick nap. I called to tell my mother the news because she is in Maryland. Next, we set out to tell the rest of the parents who live here in Houston. The tricky part was FIANCE had 5 photoshoots scheduled. I forgot that my stepmom had gone out of town, so I called her on the way to tell her. Due to a miscommunication, I missed my Dad when I went over his house so I had to tell him over the phone too. I think he was disappointed. FIANCE dropped me off at his parents to visit while he did his photoshoots. I was tired, my wisdom tooth was bothering me, and I was getting a headache....not to mention over FIANCE''s 4 month old nephew. I didn''t start calling extended family members and my best friends until we got home at 9pm. And I had to do it quick because most of them are on the east coast. Just before bedtime, I sent out my rounds of text messages to cousins and other close friends. I''ve decided not to announce my engagement on facebook. Not sure why. Just don''t want to.
So that was our first day as an engaged couple. Did I mention that I wore a seersucker dress with yellow trim and FIANCE wore a matching yellow polo?
We are both dead tired. I plan on keeping the party going tonight. We usually get pizza on Mondays from our favorite local pizza joint. We haven''t lately because I gave up dairy for lent and I''ve been dieting. I think a night of pizza and sofa time is just what the doctor ordered. Tomorrow, back to the diet and exercise!

It looks great! I was scared that I would have DSS but I''m extremely happy with the size. The melee is slightly more delicate than I thought. I am super glad that I didn''t go with the petite cathedral because it was even more delicate! I do notice some tint in certain lighting but I like the warmth. It is kind of a light champagne color which I think is really pretty. I think it can be more noticeable in certain lighting conditions because my melee are a higher color. At other times, like when I am outside, the center looks just as white as the melee. Also, I am glad that I went with an SI1. This thing is super eye clean. Everyone who has seen it has said, "man that thing is sparkly!" They follow it up with "oh, it must be because it has good clarity/cut/color." Me and FIANCE just chuckle and say...."it is all about the cut!" And some say, "oh yeah like, princess or emerald." We just chuckle again. When we get alone we talk about how little most people know about diamonds. We are so blessed to have stumbled upon Pricescope. Oh...I could tell that at least one person thought that it was fake.

You know, Mara always said that she thought her J color stone looked better on her her olive skin tone than a colorless stone, and judgeing from your hand shot, it looks like the color of your diamond also looks smashing with your skin tone!Just gorgeous.
Thank you. *blush* Yes, I love the color. Maybe when I upgrade, I will go up a color or two, definitely not higher, but I''d be more than happy with another K if it looked like this!
