yep. i couldn''t stop second guessing my selia yang dress. it is a beautiful dress but i kept thinking that it was too plain and no sashes really brought anything to it that was ''special'' enough. i didn''t feel is was as body flattering as it could be. it was making me so insecure and i was obsessing. it''s so ridiculous b/c it''s just a dress. but, i finally realized that i wouldn''t stop obsessing until i did something about it. maybe a trip to kleinfelds would help show me how much the selia dress meant to me? nope. fell in love with a dress. i never thought i''d be a two dress bride. i just figured i''d get over my issues with the original dress. but, i have to say, i''m much happier with this dress. it''s also simple but so much more flattering and the work on the top is amazing. let me know what you think! (sorry, only a pic of me in the selia, was so excited i forgot to take a pic of my new dress)

here''s my original pic...

and here is my new dress. again, no pics of me in it. some adjustments are being made to it too. the top will not be see thru. crazy enough, if you wear a lace bustier (a trick from the SA), the you can''t see through the top. the designer feels it''s a better way to get a less risque look without ruining the look of the dress as a lining would do. i promise it doesn''t look see thru at all now. the sash will be ivory to match the dress and the dress will be strapless. the fabric on the skirt is silk organza. it''s a modified a-line so it''s slightly fuller than a trumpet skirt.

here you go!

Very pretty!!!!

Gorgeous! Though I think you also look beautiful in your original wedding dress choice too

But the new dress is really spectacular and I bet you look amazing in it!!

I LOVE the new dress!

The new dress is gorgeous.

thanks shertz, missy, february2003bride and lulu! i never ever thought i''d end up in the situation of canceling a dress and getting a new one but i feel much better so i guess it all worked out. the selia dress is gorgeous but i just never felt completely comfortable with a couple of aspects about it. i would''nt have bought the dress if i didn''t love it originally...i think i just sort of changed my mind about how i wanted to look on the day of. i really love the new one and for the first time am really excited about getting dressed on the day of the wedding!

Both are pretty.

You made the right decision

I love the new one...and think it is going to be more complimentary and express a more feminine silhouette. The detailed texture adds intrigue, and the simple design of the skirt allows the top to be the main event...I REELY RIKE IT! What does the bottom part do? Modified A...so that is fuller at the bottom? Is the organza drapey or flowy or ??? I am excited for you! Love the secret the SA shared with you.

PS...To answer your question, we can't really know that you did in fact BUY a new dress, you could have walked out with it...check your bank statement. If there is a negative number there...then YES you did buy it!

Otherwise, you stole it! Wink Wink.

the new dress is really pretty :)

Thanks oddoneout...i agree. i think both are pretty but i think the new one is more ''me'' somehow. and i like that the part of the dress that''s special is actually part of the dress, not a sash that i had to add to it.

missmina...thanks!! for some reason the dress decision was a toughie for me so it''s nice to hear that i did the right thing. i felt kinda like a brat being so worried but now i''m so relieved!

casablanca...too funny. yes. i did actually buy it! no stealing here. i''m in love with the detail at the top too. the silhouette is slightly different than my first dress. maybe a little less fitted in the thigh. hard to explain. the full length pic on the site (there''s only one full length pic anywhere...cannot find anything!) doesn''t really look how it looks on me so there was no point in posting. the material is an organza over a stiffer material (maybe a satin?) so it''s structured similar to the first dress. not flowy. thanks for the nice comments by the way!!

maevie...thanks!!

LOVE the new dress!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks princessplease!! it''s so fun to actually be excited about the dress! i wish i''d done this months ago! and on a separate note....125 days!!!

Marlie,
Both dresses are lovely, but I like the second dress more. It has more...pressence and makes more of a statement. That dress is going to be timeless. So, tell us, was the style of the second dress something you had in mind or something that you wouldn''t have picked out for yourself but someone suggested? I think the bodice is feminine and elegant...nice balance. BTW, we are going to need to more pictures

.

I LOVE your new dress. It''s beautiful and feminine and memorable. I think you made a wonderful choice.

I love both dresses, but the second one is certainly my favorite! I absolutely adore the feminine beading and feeling of organza! Glad you are happy marlie!

Congrats - I think both dresses are beautiful and can''t wait to see pics of you in your new dress :).

anita...thanks!! i feel exactly the same way. this dress felt like it had more umph. it was a dress i loved back in august when i first tried on dresses. i''ve been secretly stalking it online and obsessing over it. i can''t actually believe she''s going to be mine! i promise to come back with more pics once i have my first fitting.

haven...thanks for the sweet comments and reassurance. i loved your dress too (umm...hello gorgeous bustle!).

ilovesparkles...you''ve been a fantastic dress cheerleader! so glad you like it!!

deelight...thanks! i''ll definitely post pics. 10 more weeks until i get to see my actual dress. cannot wait!

Very pretty, I''m glad you found a new dress you have no doubts about. The detailing on top and the ribbon are gorgeous, they add such an interesting element!

Thanks for the sweet comments purselover!!

i can''t believe you posted this w/only the stock photo! *i kid, i kid*

the new dress is a knockout. you''re going to look like a dream.

The new dress is gorgeous! You made the right choice

lulu...ha! i know. i was so excited that i didn''t think to take a pic of me in it. i promise that in 9.5 weeks i''ll take a pic at my first fitting to show you! thanks for the nice comments too!

honey...thanks! so nice to hear confirmation that i made the right choice. i honestly feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

I love the new gown! The delicate beading on the bustier is really gorgeous. Monique Lhuillier really knows what shes doing!

I LOVE silk organza. I had an organza gown and it photographs GORGEOUSLY (of course, I''m biased). Its flowy and withing being too drapy and unstructured. Great choice!

thanks claritek!! i love the feel of organza too. It''s just structured enough to be bridal but not too shiny and slightly flowy. my other gown was silk organza too. i guess i''m a fan! the top of the dress is actually ribbon work mostly (they kinda stick out of the dress a little which is one of my favorite parts) and teeeeeeeny tiny little pearls and crystals to make it sparkle a little. i heart Monique!

I love it! I think it''s going to look great with the ivory sash! Can''t wait to see more pics!

thanks lucyandroger! i''m excited to see the dress monochromatic. when i tried it on i threw an ivory sash over the tan one to get an idea of how it''ll come together and i thought it was pretty. how am i going to wait nearly 10 weeks to see it!!
