Did you have reset regret? I am planning one again...

That ring is perfect.. it's set perfectly.. I cannot wait to see your new ring.

Oh, wow, I missed this, but I can SO relate!!!! I am going to forewarn you that some of us will never settle on one setting. My AVR has been in a solitaire for 2 1/2 years, and I think it would look better in a halo, but I know it would be too big for me! Then I think of an antique style setting, but I fear overdoing that look. So I haven't wasted anything on resets for this diamond, because I already know there is not one perfect answer! At least a plain solitaire allows us to wear whatever bands we want!

I have to say that your cushion is THE best example of what I would want in a cushion! I really love cushions in halos, but I have already explained that I would probably feel the same way as you do. I get the look you are after and here is a picture of one of my very favorite sets on PS, owned by ksmom. Detailed pictures of the setting on her thread. Very easy setting to have made anywhere. LM tends to set stones a little too low, imo, so I would ask whoever makes it to go just a tad higher. That way the bands won't damage the prongs.

Yes DS and thank you! Exactly and maybe my issue is helping you to not go halo route? FWIW I love your solitaire just as it is. I loved my LAD ring but not on me and not for the jeans and t-shirt or sweatshirt I wear most of the time. I love ksmom's ring. I will definitely have the stone set where I can see the culet - just because I want to - and for the reason you said about bands.

Edited to add link to ksmom's ring

Yes, my attire is exactly the same as yours! lol! I so loved the Casablanca, and I know my diamond would be gorgeous in it, but it just doesn't work for my lifestyle, sadly!

Thanks for adding her link. I actually looked it up and added that part about the detailed pictures and then forgot to paste the link!

I think this is the look for me, too. Simple and elegant. Goes with everything. I'd go with platinum to give me flexibility with bands. Colored metals go in and out of style, and platinum is safe for a solitaire always!

I love my solitaire for a mrb, but I like the style you are going for with antique cuts. I might do that eventually. Can't wait to see yours! Are you using DK for this?

Platinum definitely and yes DK will do it. I am so excited to do this! Is it terrible that I am dreaming of more bands that I just NEED?!

Yay!!! I, for one, will be watching this with great interest!!! :appl:

Well it is finally done and I love it! Low set but I said I wanted to see the culet. So versatile and classic.

5.6g platinum in a size 7.5

It's beautiful. I hope you love it.

I love the simplicity of your reset! A beautiful stone really doesn't need much dressing IMO. It looks beautiful on your hand with your bands but would look equally beautiful with a thin plain band.

Congrats and enjoy - it is gorgeous!!

Beautiful, simple setting that is just perfect for collecting bands!

That is a beautiful setting! Do you feel that your diamond looks bigger or stands out more with the new setting? I am considering a change similar to yours. Thank you :appl: :appl:

How exciting!!! I love it! But we need some more close up pics!!! I probably said this before, but that is one of the best antique cushions ever, so it will be just fine in an elegant solitaire. I am happy for you that you can finally wear your bands!

Thank you! DS you are so sweet. I do love this stone so much. More closeups.

I love this vintage looking low color cushion, with such classic setting

Oh my  that's just gorgeous. Perfect simple elegance. It really lets your stone be the star and that puppy really shines.
May I ask what the stone stats are? It looks enormous (but not unwieldy, just substantial)

Classic and elegant :appl: I love it!

It's perfect redwood! The Boston Jeff look has always been a favorite of mine. Simple, classic and goes with about everything. Great choice!

Now those are great pics!!! Your style is so much like mine! I just love the elegant simplicity of that set! Is that the Tiffany milgrain band at the bottom? I absolutely adore that combination of rings! :appl:

Ooh what a gorgeous reset! LOVE it!

This is really elegant and soooo versatile! (I'm a blingy-halo-to-solitaire convert, myself!) :wavey:

That is a gorgeous solitaire re-set! I love your stack! Ever since I saw the Kate Beckinsale stack of 3, I've been partial to stacks with 3 rings! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

I absolutely love your new setting!

You are all too kind thank you so much! It seems to look a bit larger in this setting than the french cut one but smaller than the halo setting of course. The halo setting was "YUGE" to me.

foxinsox it is a GIA L VS1 that is 2.20ct, 7.63x7.41x5.68mm, with a 49% table. It faces up smaller than a similar antique cushion might because of the high crown, but I just love the high crown!

DS that is the Tiffany milgrain 2mm band and it is one of my favorites.

I think I am finally done with resets on this stone because I can't imagine a better fit for me.

This is so beautiful and sophisticated.
When I saw your ring for the first time I was convinced that it was a leon. It's very 'Boston Jeff'. The proportions and flowing lines are stunning. Your stack looks amazing as well. Congrats with your gorgeous set. I like!!!!

OMG! I thought it looked a lot like boston jeff's LM ring too! HA!!

Gorgeous!!

Beautiful! Simple, classic & clean

Oh it's perfect!! Classic and let's your gorgeous antique cushion take center stage. Plus, a lovely look for stacking!! :naughty: :appl:

Thank you for sharing! So appreciate you coming back and showing us the reset! I am going to be especially conscientious and picky about my next ring. (not soon, but maybe later this year?) I think it is so helpful when you put out your original post last year and let us all know the steps you did and have others help with this.
