Disappointed (vent)

Found out today that the place we were going to have our brunch the day after the wedding is booked. It was perfect - my parents'' yacht club, near our reception and had a nice waterfront room with wood floors and tables/chairs/linens/dishes included for $300. But they have a big regatta coming that weekend so we can''t do it

Now I don''t know if it''s really going to be worth doing at all. I''m looking into other locations, but nothing else seems to be as cheap or as nice.

Plus, my top choice earrings from Ruby Lane are sale pending since I saw them and posted them here

. I was counting on my rehearsal dinner location (Glenvale Vineyards) being available, and now I''m in the same situation as you are. Have you looked at the Bristol Yacht club, or even one of the really cute restaurants in that area?

Yeah, BYC was where we were going to do it! Stupid regatta!

Oh well, I''m over it. We''ll find someplace else. I kinda liked it cause I figured we could go super casual - some coffee, OJ, and Sip ''n Dip donuts or something.

I''m sorry to hear things aren''t working out! I know this is minor compared to the venue issue, but if the earrings you''re looking at on Ruby Lane are artisan, not antique, you may be able to have the seller make some more for you. It may be worth an email!

Basil, is there any chance you can change your date to a date where the club is open? I know it''s just the brunch, but if it''s really important to you it might be worth it.
