FH and I just got back from Salem, MA where we DIYed our own engagement pictures! We are so out of money, but I really wanted some nice pics of the two of us.

We just decided to be fearless in public and set up our tripod in neat spots (my camera has a remote control shutter release). We met some cool people, a few stopped to ask us what we were doing, but mostly we just made people smile. It was a fun day :)

Thought I'd share my favorites! (and the idea for other brides on the "broke" train!)

Eep! Sorry those came out so big!

Hopefully smaller...the series in front of this window (also book themed) were my favorites!

They look totally AWESOME!!! Better than a lot of "professional" engagement pics I've seen out there! Congrats - you two are adorable :wink2:

Great Job! They look excellent and the ones in front of the window of books are my favorite :appl: :appl:

Great job!! I especially love the ones in front of the window full of books.

You did a fabulous job!
No one could ever guess they are DIY
Your poses are so relaxed and comfortable.
And I love your outfits
Maybe you should consider hiring yourselves out
to make some extra money

Wow! You could have just said "there are my engagement pics!" and I would have wanted to know the name of your photographer!

You two look great!

You really did a great job.
Just goes to show anything is doable :)

what great engagement pics...would NEVER have guessed they were DIY! congratulations to you two on your engagement, you are so adorable together!!!

These are awesome! What a great idea!!! Also, I lived in Salem for a year and now I miss it. You picked a great setting!

These are fabulous, Iris!!! They certainly don't look "DIY" to me!!! :appl:

Thanks for sharing your photos and your idea! This is a great way to save money and you did a fantastic job!

Great pics!!!!!!!

Very cute and creative!

I would have never known they are DIY unless you said something, very cute and very well done.

Gorgeous pics Iris!! And what a fun way to spend a day

Just goes to show, all you need are photogenic models, a good eye, and a tripod! They truly look professional :appl: :appl:

You two are absolutely adorable!! The pictures turned out amazing - I am so impressed!

I would like to DITTO MissMina! You two could totally sell yourselves! The photos look fantastic and in no way look like DIY! Our photographer got started as selling herself as a cheap non-pro. Her approach is to charge for the time spent and editing. She then hands you the disc with all the photos and you print yourself. My favorite is of the two of you in front of the window looking opposite directions. I am so impressed and you two are just adorable!

Aww, you guys are all so sweet! Thanks for the feedback and wonderful compliments, this is such a nice community of people :appl:

These pictures look great, and not one bit like a DIY project. They're very professional looking, esp. the one where you're posing in front of the window with the stacks of books in the background. I love it! :)

Salem is a great place for pictures, too, isn't it? It just had such a funky feel to it. Actually, so does most of the North Shore. DH and I did our own engagement pictures in Newburyport, and it was right after a summer thunderstorm, so everything was bright and green :)

Anyway, these are lovely. Well done! :appl:

Iris these are wonderful! Way to go be a shining example of making it work with what you've got. You two are adorable. And I'm sure the memories over the years of the adventure together will also make you smile.

Amazing job! Do I smell a career in the making here?
