Do anyone know what this "finish" is called?

Hello!

I am absolutely in luv with this designer and the type of finsih he uses on his rings.

Below are 2 slightly different examples and I''d really love to know what you could describe this finish as. I am thinking maybe I can get my plain polished wedding band re-done like this? What do you think...

hmm... not sure but that second one sure is pretty!

Those are both totally different textures. I''d just call the designer and ask myself.

If you mean to get your current band refinished, I doubt you''ll be able to; I believe this type of "rough/natural" finish is normally worked in the casting.

The first word to spring to mind is "textured," but that''s broad enough to include a whole lot of finishes: if it were silver, I''d say "reticulated," but I''m not sure if that applies to gold. I suppose you could say an "almost reticulated texture" and convey what you mean to a goldsmith ... but if there''s a more specific word, I''d love to hear it, too!

The first look could be aproximated by fused gold (very high heat on the gold, until it starts to melt).

I have no idea how to reproduce the second look except in the casting.
