...It's just a ring, why am I stressing out about it so much? (About your/her e-ring?)

Was it hard for you to decide Center Stone Shape?
Size?
Setting?
Did you ever find the more you learned the more confused you'd become?
Or Did it come easily to you?

I never think, "it's just a ring or necklace, etc.," because of the amount I'll be planning to spend . . . Sometimes I stress over MUCH less expensive items like a new pair of shoes (which color to get? will these match my clothing? will I be able to walk across the room in these things? etc.), and then realize, why am I worrying about $70 or however much, BUT when I'm spending thousands, stress is expected and I will obsess over the details because I wouldn't want to make a mistake.

As far as picking out the ring/diamond shape and all these details, yes, I knew what I wanted before my then boyfriend purchased my ring. Luckily, I love round stones so this process was easy. My bigger problem is decided what to get for a RHR, so I'm thinking for a few months before buying the one I'm currently eyeing. . .it's difficult waiting, but I don't want to waste money on a ring that will sit in my jewelry box.

I''ve never spent so much money on something I knew so little about. Only thing more expensive I''ve ever bought was a car, but I''m a car nut and almost always know way more than the salesperson. For jewelry, I was a total noob. Not a very good feeling.
