Hi everyone!

I posted a similar topic in Show Me the Ring, but there are much more fabulous rings on that forum for people to spend their time with, and I actually need some wedding-related help with this ring decision.

FI and I have my wedding band selection down to two, but need some help.

Do we go--
-0.5 ct Ice.com ring? http://www.ice.com/customer/product_detail.jsp?product=147550434
PROS- price for all the diamonds you''re getting! Wow! Would look beautiful next to ering.
CONS- We don''t know much about the long-term quality of Ice.com stuff, and I''m pretty tough on my jewelry. Also the eternity-stlye makes me NERVOUS!

Or-
-0.10 Marlene Harris? http://www.marleneharriscol.com/categories/AntiqueStyleWeddingBands/WB745.html
PROS- I wouldn''t worry about it as much as the Ice.com ring. No worries about quality and stability.
CONS- defiinitely less bling with my ering.

I would just be heartbroken if I lost some diamonds or something happened to my wedding band, because I plan on not really taking it off! A very similar ring to the ICe.com is at Nordstroms and is priced at $900. Sounds more realistic to me. Makes me suspicious What would you ladies do?

Both companies have very good return policies, but I don''t know enough about jewelry to look at the Ice.com ring and guage its quality.

Questions like this usually get posted in RockyTalky, I think, but it sounds to me like you are leaning more towards the Marlene Harris (which is beautiful!). I''ve got a ring from ice.com, but I''ve only had it since December so I can''t say anything about how well it holds up over time.

If your main concern is that the Marlene Harris isn''t blingy enough, you can always get an anniversary band or a right-hand-ring later on to bling yourself out.

misysu, since both places have great return polices, I say order the first ring (it''s gorgeous) and then bring it a an independent appraiser or a trusted jeweler and see what they have to say about it.

i think that you should go with the ice.com one.....but only so that i can order the second one. it''s gorgeous!

Both are beautiful! I worry about engagement rings as well but I''m not a sentimental person (I don''t think so anyway) so I''d get the ice one knowing that if I needed to have it made in a different size in another 5 years because my hands grew I''d be fine with it.

Sooo...let me preface this by saying that I''m very superstitious about wedding bands. I would absolutely go for "stability" over "bling" in my marriage, and even just in the symbol of my marriage. Also, I''m guessing that what Addy meant is that, for the price, you could get another band if this one has issues or your finger size changes -- but the Marlene Harris looks like it should be resizeable in the event your size changes, where the Ice.com one doesn''t look like it is. Just the opposite view on things.

They''re both pretty rings and I don''t think you''ll go wrong either way. If you decide to go with the Ice one, it might be a good idea to order it well enough in advance so if you get it and don''t like it or it doesn''t measure up quality-wise, you could return it and get a different one before the wedding.

Hi misy,

I looked at all of my coupon codes, and they are spefically linkd to my email address. Sorry!

So, to get 20% off, I would first try to use the code "Fire & Ice" and if that doesn''t work, I would sign up for an account and then they send you coupon codes just about every week. They have slowed down since Valentine''s Day, but I currently have two that don''t expire until the end of February and the end of March.

Sorry I couldn''t be of more help!

I prefer the Marlene Harris one, to be honest. But I''m also very against getting an eternity style wedding ring (for me, not for other people, because it''s important that I be able to resize it should my ring size change after I have children).

Do you know the quality of the diamonds in the Marlene Harris one? I noticed that the Ice ring lists the diamond clarity as I1-I2, which may not be an issue with diamonds that small, but it''s something to consider.

I also think that the quality of the Marlene Harris looks better than the Ice ring, but it''s hard to tell for sure just looking at pictures.
