Do you do this?

Every once in awhile I''ll search for pretty diamonds that I wish I had or were getting, and when the large magnified picture of the diamond is up I''ll have BF look at it and make him find the inclusions. Basically I''m trying to get him to have a good eye so that when he does buy me a diamond, he can buy me one that''s eye clean!

That''s funny! I was with you until you said you have your BF check it out...my guilty pleasure is searching for my ideal diamond-setting combo...at various price-points, of course! But, I can''t say that I''ve ever had poor SO search them over for inclusions! Hey, he''ll be trained well for you!

Hahaha, I HAVE done that- once He was pretty good, and willing to learn about what exactly he was looking for, and so I''ve never repeated- but it was funny and endearing

Oh man! I am so not telling BF that I''m the only one that does this! I''ll just keep testing him, he''s getting pretty good at finding inclusions and he''s good at spotting a killer diamond.

haha i kinda sorta do that.. except i''ll take the passive-aggressive route.

i''ll pull up a diamond with a totally obvious inclusion and I''ll say something like "wow.. do you see that big black spot?!? that would drive me crazy!!"

and then i may follow with a clean diamond and say something like "wow.. look how pretty this one is.. no visible inclusions"

he actually surprised me once.. i pulled an I1 up with a somewhat obvious inclusion and as i was raving about the really good price, he said "you don''t want that one.. it''s got a smudge on it" hehe so i think i have properly trained him

Haha! A smudge, that''s cute. My boyfriend is an engineer so once I showed him how there''s a mathematical ratio for a "good" RB diamond, and it''s not just "what looks pretty" he got a lot more into it. He also seems to like all the gadgets like the idealscopes and ASETs and things. I''m sure he''ll find a good one.

I went looking at diamonds once with BF and I told him i was fine with SI1 as long as its not too noticeable and he was like NO! He could see the inclusion in a VS1! ... oh well, I guess I''m lucky he has a good eye

LOL!! I don''t make my BF find the inclusions (although nice idea there!!) but I do leave up pictures of diamonds and rings that i want and even the page Mouseweddings.com, since he KNOWS I want to get engaged at Disney world!! HAHA! We all have our "things"!
