No, it''s not a chyrsoberyl or a sphene, although I have a couple of lovely apple green sphenes. I have to add a chrysoberyl to my collection one of these days.

I don't have too many, this is my fav GIA Fancy Light Grayish Purple heart. A little schmutzy and not quit at purple at the photo, but I still love it!

How big is the shmutzy purple heart if you don''t mind my asking (LOL!!). It looks pretty clean to me! I have a 40 pointer lavender colored diamond I have to get set. I''m thinking a solitaire halo, but it''s only 4.7mm. I hope it doesn''t look too small in a small halo.

No it's a yellow green grossular garnet. Harriet was closest because while some people might think this is a tsavorite, some people might think it's too light. Here's a terrible picture in diffused evening sunlight. I love it because it's a bright color, and it's cut very well. 1.75 carats. My malaya next to it looks very dark here because it's so dim in the room, but it just shows you the pretty pastel green color in comparison.

ETA: This is such an awful picture, and my camera does neither stone any justice. Maybe I'll take better pics tonight if people want to see how much this guy sparkles.

TL I do not have the paperwork in front of me right now, but I think it is around 3/4 of a carat. I meant to say earlier that it is not as pink as the pic show. I think yours would be a nice size for a halo.

I could spit! I so very nearly said grossular - honest.

It''s a very nice stone. Shouldn''t heart''s be red or pink though? The one I''ve just put on hold is pink!
