This will be gorgeous @Farleysmom! I have a similar ring that doesn’t fit. I never thought about breaking it up into something else. I can’t wait to see your finished necklace!

I just reset my pear. I got it for an amazing price on DB more than a decade ago, but I never really wore it much bc I have my ACA and other rings. It’s always been my go to travel ring for vacations.
Well I just had DK reset it and I have not stopped wearing it since receiving it! I love the reset.

I’ve posted this picture in another thread some time ago, but I’ve had this oval
in a total of three ring settings and none of them spoke to me. This was her last dress, as lovely as it was I just didn’t wear it as I always favoured my target ring.

I think it’s better suited in this DK cuff, and I’m much happier to have it as a bracelet!

@luxe It’s so pretty! I love that you made it into a bangle..I did the same thing. I wear mine very day now.

Thank you! And of course - It’s .63ct , 6.6 x 4.83 x 2.65 mm and my wrist measurement is a bit under 6” if that helps for perspective.

I have made over a lot of pieces I wasn’t wearing. I made 3 tennis bracelets into different style bangles that I now get a lot of wear out of. It’s also fun.
 
I had a family stone that had been worn as an engagement ring recut by BG several years ago and had it set in a bezel pendant. But I found it small at .80 cts, especially as my studs surpassed that size! So I really never wore it. I had Caysie van Bebber make a new platinum and diamond halo for it, and while Covid has hindered my jewelry wearing since I don't go out a lot, I will definitely wear it more often as things return to normal!

It's the one on the left. The sides and back are pretty, too!

I have an oval blue zircon that was in a sterling ring setting (too small) that I hope to reset into a gold ring setting. Wondering whether it’s cost effective to send it off somewhere to be set or try and do it locally.

The bench at my normal local jeweler retired and I don’t know who they’re using now. I could probably find a stock setting on Stuller or somewhere.

Once this zircon is reset into something gold (that fits), it’ll go with my zircon necklace and earrings I had reset into pierced dangles from some vintage (non pierced) screw-backs.

This isn’t my tweak, I inherited it from my grandmother. It’s her original 1940s engagement ring from Kay. When the band was worn down too thin to wear she had the diamond chips reset into a pendant.
