My sweet husband's first gift of jewelry to me was beautiful. It was my high school graduation and he suprised me with a 2ct. diamond tennis bracelet. I was shocked! We were engaged five months later and married six months after that.

Unfortunately, I lost it just a few years ago while at work. I suspect the clasp came undone and it fell off. But, he promises to get me another and it will be much bigger this time.

I have awful luck when it comes to jewelry. I also had my wedding set "misplaced"

by our then two-year old son. We have been unable to locate it for over two years. So, we are in the market for another.

Mine was a beautiful braided herringbone necklace (6 or more necklace strands) that was yellow gold, 16 inch long, and it "V'd down with 2 or 3 little hearts in the center, it was a very beautiful necklace and I loved it and unfortunately lost it. I still look on ebay to try to find another! He has since bought me other necklaces, but I still hope to buy another like that one.

My first gift was a rolling ring similar to Cartier's in yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold. It was a gift from my first boyfriend in high school. I've moved so many times I lost the ring somewhere

The first piece of jewelery I recieved from my boyfriend was not that long ago really. He gave me a 3 stone diamond pendant. 1/4 carat total weight. One of the ones that Kays massively advertises ALL the time. It was for my college graduation, and I had always discouraged him from buying me jewelery because I never wore any, and it seemed SO expensive for such a little thing. I didn't want him to spend that much money on jewelery for me.. so he took me shopping and told me to pick out stuff that I liked because his MOM wanted to buy me some jewelery for my graduation. He was supposed to be buying me new floormats for my car.

I liked the Kays pedant but I still thought it was too expensive. Well, to make a long story short, on graduation day, he gave me the necklace and his parents gave me the floormats. And I've gotten progressively more jewelry crazy ever since.

The first piece of jewelry my husband gave me was my gold wedding band 15 years ago. I didn't get an engagement ring. At that time we had no money, but it didn't matter. We knew that we were soulmates and meant to be together forever and I was sooooo happy when he asked me to marry him!!!!

I'm even happier today to have found him.....he is truly my diamond in the rough

a Lori Bonn necklace and earring set. or maybe the Judith Jack necklace and earring set, I forgot which one was first.
the first "real" gift was my engagement ring in December 2001.

My first gift from my husband was an emeral channel set gold band....very pretty.

Next came my engagement ring.....it was very small because we were very young (20), and a simple gold band to go with it.

A year after our wedding he bought me a simple but very pretty anniversary band.

Now, 10 years later I just received the Tacori set of my dreams for our 10th anniversary....it's just gorgeous, and I just received it yesterday. I must admit, we picked it out together, and I chose the center stone from Whiteflash. I's a 1.54 carat ACA....SI1 (eye clean), I in color.

You have really stretched Kmom's mind with this one.

I received a gold Seiko watch with a teeny little diamond on it. I still have it except the battery is dead. I don't wear it at all since I am very hard on my watches. My favorite everyday watch is from Walmart, cost $6.43 and I don't care if it got paint, caulk or anything on it. As long as the battery doesn't die.

My fiance gave me a pair of garnet stud earrings for Christmas 1998 (we'd only been dating for two weeks, but it was his first jewelry purchase for a girlfriend ever). I think that it was this experience that fueled my insatiable hunger for jewelry . . . opening that cute, little box was so much fun!

Yes, I still have the earrings.

My first gift was a 14k gold cross pendant on a 14k gold chain. I believe he gave it to me for my birthday 3 months after we were dating. I still have it and wear it occasionally.

I'm very sentimental about my first jewellery gift from my hubby. We had been good friends for about six years before we started dating. He gave me this promise ring six months later, on my birthday in July. We were engaged the following May, and it moved to my right hand, where it's been ever since!

Sorry the picture isn't great - I haven't cleaned it in a while. It's six teeny hearts with even tinier diamonds - I love it

My first jewelry gift from my fiance was a bracelet made of tiger's eye beads in gold, green, and even some gray-blue (I believe the color to be natural on these.) It is absolutely beautiful and I still wear it. The only other piece I received from him before the e-ring was a tanzanite and diamond ring in white gold, which I do still wear from time to time as well.

The first boyfriend gift ever was a guitar pick on a silver chain. What can I say...it was seventh grade and grunge was in! He thought he would be a rock star

bump up this thread for new members.

This is a fun thread, making me think of the good old days!
My first love gave me a beautiful heart necklace for christmas that had a center stone which was an opal. It was such a pretty blue/green/pink opal. Who knows where it is now. My parents sold their house long ago, and junked some of my stuff along with it I'm sorry to say. It was the sweetest pendant and I can still picture it in my mind today!

My mother loves gemstones in their rough form and we were at a shop that sold both rough and cut stones. I saw a beautiful pair of amber earrings. Very simple ovals set in sterling silver. He went and got them for me for Christmas : ) I was very touched.

I wish you well,

Bridget

The first jewellry gift from my bf was LONG before we were more than friends. He was a bit of a punk back then and he stole
23.gif
this cheap tarnished silver ring from a flea market for me (I had been looking at it with him earlier). Well 8 years later and he is now a model citizen (I like to think it was my influence

).
I don''t have that ring anymore but I wish I did... it would be the perfect wedding ring one day.

My then boyfriend now hubby gave me a lovely sterling silver heart necklace. Its really pretty and I know he was thinking of me when he got it because its nowhere near his style. He was just 16 at the time (I was 15) so I was so beyond thilled. :D Yes, I still have it!

My h2b's first piece of jewelry to me was a sterling silver bracelet that he bought me on our first trip to the mountains. We'd only been dating 2 weeks. It's not a chain bracelet, It's a very stiff bracelet that's about a quarter of an inch wide and it has a rope design and a braid design side by side. I still wear it to this day and in six years I've never taken it off. I leave it on even when I clean it. It's literally became part of 'me' and I'd feel lost without it.

Fast forward 6 years...my e-ring is the third piece of jewelry that he has given to me. He hates jewelry, lol (I can't stress enough how much he hates it). I think that will probably be our only difference between us because I go nuts over it
37.gif
. Just about every piece of jewelry in between the bracelet and ering and thereafter has been bought by myself..except for one rather large London Blue Topaz.

My fi''s first jewelry present for me was a bracelet with peridot and some other green stones. I lost it within a month. He then gave me a pair of garnet earrings for Christmas, they lasted about 3 months. After that he gave up on giving me jewelry until the engagement ring. Now he''s convinced i''m going to lose it too eventually.

Although my first husband and I had a lot of troubles, I do have to give him credit for buying jewelry. My first real jewelry gift from him was a pair of pearl earrings (at age 17). For birthdays, Christmas etc. he often bought jewelry...I have few gold hoop earrings, opals, amethysts, emeralds, tanzanite, diamond pendant...most of these are so-so quality but still the thought counted. The engagement ring was a small emerald ring..his wedding band actually cost more than my e-ring. When our child was born he actually picked out dark blue sapphires individually (looked under the microscope and everything) and had them set for earrings and a pendant. Those are actually very nice quality. My current soon to be fiance has actually never given me any jewelry...although I know he has a fablulous ring in his possession. He makes up for in a lot of other ways though so I don''t mind picking my own jewelry from now on :)

My first boyfriend that gave me a jewelery gift or my fiance and his first jewelry gift to me?

My dad bought me all my original stuff, earrings and an emerald ring for 8th grade graduation.

The first guy who ever bought me anything was my boyfriend highschool into college who bought me a whitegold promise ring, apparently as a "bribe" since he had cheated on me and hoped that with that I would not dump him. He was wrong and ended up giving that ring to the other girl after I dumped him. Loser.

My fiance bought me a promise ring from Tiffany''s, who in turn ruined it and its 2 replacements, after losing it in shipping 2 times. We ended up having a ring made by the jeweler we got my current engagement ring through. I was stupid enough to trust them for our original engagment ring purchase only to have them ruin that one too. Thankfully we got our money back. I think in the whole of all the incidents we filed 4 BBB complaints. Then we found out the same store had about 10 more from the last year all unresolved. I despise Tiffany and her crappy blue box. But I kept my ring boxes from there because they didn''t want them back so since they are small I use them to store my ring at night and in my purse.

My first piece of jewelry from a bf was from and ex during high school - an oval-ish sapphire on a dainty gold band - had special meaning since we met in September

It's been long gone...

DH gave me a .25 diamond cluster ring for HS graduation, then later that year when we were going to get engaged, he took it back to trade it in, decided not to, so he "gave" it to me for my birthday, in December, then we got engaged in December, too. This before *regifting* became taboo! Still have the original cluster, original .25 c pear shaped diamond solitare, upgrade .75tw round/marquise e/w ring and current, my *last* wedding ring, 3.05 c tw radiant with rounds and baguettes! We've come a long way, baby!

The first jewelry gift I got from my husband was the Tiffany&Co sterling silver Elsa Perreti floating heart necklace. It was for valentine''s day, and we''d been dating for about 4 months. I really cherish it to this day, though I rarely wear it because I have 2 young kids.

The first jewelry resent I got from a boy EVER was when I was about 12, a boy in my class that had a crush on me gave me a gold chain with a tiny crucifix on it.

FUN FUN memories.

From my boyfriend I dated during college, a carved jade pendant in the shape of two peaches.

From my ex-husband before we were married, a boulder opal pendant

From websailor, ummm, the e-ring and that is it because I usually buy all of my own jewelry.
He's too afraid to buy me any jewelry.

Three and a half years together and my first anything that wasn''t an appliance or something electronic were these a few weeks ago for Vday

when i was in the 2nd grade i came home from school wearing a ruby and diamond ring that a boy at school gave me! my mom took one look at that thing and immediately pulled out the phone book until she found the boys mom who had no idea that her son had swiped the ring out of her jewelry box. i was very sad i had to give it back but his mom was awesome and brought a cheapo replacement for him to give me when she came to pick up the real deal. needless to say she was very happy my mom called.

UH OH! I sure wouldn''t have wanted to have been in his shoes

It was a pair of earrings... fluted black drops from an artists'' Coop in Boston. They were just a small part of the picture: that day the two of us went shopping with the goal to dress me up head to toes for a fancy party. I had never done that much shopping with a guy before and this one proved to have as much good taste as any top fashion designer. And allot more insight and interest for details than myself. Total surprise ! No chance to forget the day

My bf & I have only been together a little over a year, $$ is always very tight (he''s currently an unemployed pt- student) so for my b-day this past September he bought me a beautiful sterling heart necklace from diamond.com that I wear all the time! I couldn''t believe that he bought it with no help from me & that at the age of 30 it was the first piece of jewelry he had ever bought for anyone!!! for this past x-mas it was a very sweet sapphire bracelet, again from diamond.com. The poor guy won''t know what hit him when he goes to get my inherited diamond set in the Vatche x-prong

I also remember that the first piece of jewelry anyone ever gave me was from my 9th grade bf- it was a gold ankle bracelet, the kind you wear with an extension chain as a necklace. I feel terrible saying this, but at the time I was mortified because it was very plain, no diamonds or stones and everyone else had these huge diamond & gemstone things hanging from their necks (this was 82-83, so forgive me!) He was a great, generous guy though, and later on a complete jerk gave me the "perfect" one like everyone else had and I wished for the days of the nice guy with the modest anklet......

hehe i love this thread! thanks for bumping it dancingfire!

jennyann your story cracked me up!!

as for me...
first jewelry from a boy- my first bf asked me to ''officially be his gf'' with a 25 cent flower metal ring from one of those candy machines they had at the local bowling alley... supposedly he went through quite a few quarters before he got the one with a ring...
then a few months later, he gave me a real ring, a cute heart shaped aquamarine in 14k YG... it was hilarious bc he gave it to me in the hospital where he was checked in for a few days for observation because he jumped out of a car and got a concussion... (dont ask!!) it was totally unexpected and very sweet! (and makes for a rather interesting story too!) i still have it at my parents house- don''t wear it anymore, but still has so much sentimental value!

first jewelry from my lovely FI - actually two necklaces at one time! after he went on vacation in mexico... he got me a gorgeous fire opal pendant in YG (which i subsequently reset into a bezel set ring) and a square CZ pendant in silver. after that he''s be super practical w/gifts (
8.gif
) except for my boootiful ering, of course!!!
