Hi Ps''ers, So I just got these earrings and I wanted to see what everyone thinks of them. They are 1.75 ctw Morganite in a 14k white gold setting. There is a twisted white gold halo behind the stone and they are lever backs.

I''ve debated between something like this or something more long and fancy or the WF Peretti style studs - a la Firegoddess (I still want those)

but maybe not for the actual wedding day.

Background: Maui Wedding in April - outside on grass. Pretty casual. I''ll attach pics of my dress too. I''m not wearing a necklace or bracelet. Just e-ring and earrings. My FI is wearing a white linen casual suit w/ a celedon/limey green dress shirt.

Thanks Poptart! You girls will never guess where I got them..... qvc (going to run and hide now) hehe. I wanted to post them but I wasn''t sure, then I saw deco''s post w/ her new gemstone asscher from there and I figured what the hay.

I do really like them and you''re right Kaleigh, I can totally wear them again ( I already want too

)

Thanks DF!

Do you think they are big enough? The are about 6 mm

Your earring choice is great! And that dress with you in it is spectacular. With your figure you can''t be casual...in that dress! It is stunning!! You will make an incredible bride!!

DKS

oh, I did want to point out I hate to be so critical...and I hope I don''t offend you by being honest...but that shade of makeup you have on is way too light. It doesn''t photograph well...
2.gif
and it washes all your features away!

Just lovely.

HA!!!!! I almost ordered them MYSELF!!! So I *love* them!! And I *love* seeing them on you first

... Wish there was a slightly further away shot! Are they heavy, light, comfie??

p.s -- the main reason I resisted was that I just got my ears pierced (first time) and am supposed to wear POSTS only for the 1st year. So they''d be in "storage" for a while ... OH THEY ARE FANTASTICO THOUGH!!!

They are fantastic for that dress, especially. They''re gorgeous! I love the color of the morganite against your dark hair.

I think they are perfect.

DKS - you crack me up! It took me a minute though, it''s only 5:45 am

Thanks Kim!

Deco - that is soooo funny! They are super light and comfy, I really do love them. I will probably keep them even if I don''t wear them for the wedding. The do tilt forward a tad. I think I''m going to bring them to a jeweler and see if they can bend the wires a bit so the top curved part of the lever back is more forward if that makes sense. Those SJP/ Kate Winslet earrings have been on my mind and these kinda remind me of them.

I also thought of having some danburite cut into oec''s or antique cushions and having them bezeled and attaced to lever backs. But this qvc option was cheaper and they are so pretty

I''ll try to get a further distance shot for you deco. That stinks you can only wear posts for 1 year. Looks like you HAVE to get the WF ACA bezels

LOL

Thanks Musey!
Tacori - thank you too!

SDL- thanks! and you''re right I shouldn''t fee bad, I did get a good deal

dks- ok, you''re too funny. i well scrolled up to see a big ole erased face! ha.

Oooooh, I like them. And I think I want a pair.
27.gif
I have been DYING for some big ole leverbacks but until moneybags here wins the lottery it is a virtual impossibility for, well, the forseeable future. Gorge!

Yes to the earrings! They will be perfect with the dress. And the dress is perfect! Love the colored embroidery/beading.

Hahaha! DKS, you are hilarious! I seriously almost always laugh at your posts.

Asscher_girl, your dress is GORGEOUS! And I think those earrings are great! I just confessed my recent QVC purchase (rose gold bracelet) in Deco''s thread about her new gemstone halo ring from QVC. Ain''t nothin'' wrong with a little Q to the V to the C!

Hi Asscher Girl...those earrings are lovely! And your dress has always been one of my favorites on here...it is gorgeous and it fits you like a glove!

As an aside, we FINALLY chose a location on Maui and a date today...since the reservation has been signed and the deposit paid, I guess I can actually make some plans now! We are getting married at the Kaanapali Beach Club in Lahaina in July...also on a grassy area...it supposedly has waterfalls, a koi pond, etc... with ocean pictures and a staircase nearby. Remind me again where you''re getting married? (I have a brain like a sieve these days!)

Thanks Holly!

Thanks Thing2of2! I really am loving them, and you''re right, nothing wrong w/ a little qvc, hehe

Hey Harleigh! Thanks! And congrats to picking a location! We were actually thinking of staying there at the end of the 7 days in Kihei but I think we are going to go to Kauai for our honeymoon. We are getting married in Kihei at my parent''s condo. It''s a small property right on the end of Kihei - a hop, skip and jump from Wailea. Lahanai is a ton of fun, have you ever been to Maui? Your loc sounds beautiful!

Thanks Zoeb!

I don''t really feel like starting a new thread so I thought I''d post this here. Here is a pic of the bridesmaids dresses I picked out. This is the exact color combo I''m picking too. This pic came from the website''s album section, so this is a "real" wedding pic.

It''s by Aria Bridesmaids, style #160, dress color: Kiwi stripe silk shantung (it''s not really stripes, more like 2 colors of threads) and the sash is Aloe. Not sure if they are going to wear the sash, but we can make that decision the day of.

Oh and my bm''s (2 of them) are both about 4'' 11" and probably 100 lbs (size 0 and 2) teeny freakin'' tiny

What does everyone think?

Simply gorgeous!

Thanks so much, asscher,

I LOVE your color choices! We picked out silk shirts for the guys in a lighter lime/celery color, so of course I love your girls'' dresses...I think they will be lovely! My girls will be in fuschia chiffon and the guys in the light green...hopefully it will all go together in our tropical garden setting! (Reminds me I promised to take pictures of the damn shirts for Sha on another thread!)

Anyhow, I''ve never been to Maui before, and we won''t have time to go beforehand, so I''m completely winging it! Hopefully the coordinator our friend recommended will do a great job for us! Can''t wait to hear how the rest of your planning is coming along!

BTW, where is your dress from? I always go back and look at it, but since I probably am closer in size to your BM''s, I doubt I could pull a beauty like that off! (I am SOOOO short-waisted!!!)

Hi Harleigh, our guys are wearing limey/celedon green shirts too and white linen pants. It''s an all green wedding
1.gif

My dress is by Maggie Sottero, it''s called Ophelia. i think it would look good on a smaller body frame too. And it''s super comfy!

How many people are you having at your dest. wedding? Oh and I meant to ask a while ago, you are in N. CA right? I think we are all going to do another gtg sometime in Oct, it would be fun if you could make it.

Hi again! Very cool...I''ll have to post the shirts we got and see what you think of them. We haven''t come up with anything for the pants yet, so I''m curious to see what yours look like...where''d you find them? Our shirts are Haggar from Mervyn''s...on clearance, of course!
31.gif

Ooohhhh...I am a HUGE Maggie Sottero fan...that was actually my first ebay dress purchase...before I realized we were running off to Maui! Now I''m just weeding through all of my ebay finds!

We are having hopefully no more than 40 people total...FI''s parents are both children of 9 with most aunts and uncles still living and local, so we''re going to have to offend a few people! How many people are you having?

And yes, I am in Roseville, and Happy is in Midtown...a gtg would be awesome...where are you at?

Hi there
2.gif
We got the men''s shirts at Macy''s. The brand is Material London. The pants are I.N.C. - I didn''t know that they even made a men''s brand.

Yeah, the invites were the hardest part. My fi''s mom is one of 7, so yep, not all aunts and uncles were invited. We actually sent out more than one round of invites. We didn''t want to send out 60 or 70 invites and possibly get 60 or 70 rsvp''s because we only wanted 40. We now have 39 adults and 4 children. We really didn''t want children but it would be hard to not invite them since everyone is coming from so far away (east coast and further). It worked out and I think everyone has gotten over it
9.gif
I hope

Yeah I love my maggie and the price was right too. I think it was under $800! I really didn''t even know how much I was going to spend but I figured 1 or 2 k so that is soooo totally not like me to come that far under, haha lol

We live in San Jose. Not sure where Roseville is, we moved here in Jan from Atlanta. I met a bunch of ps''ers at the last bay area gtg, it was so much fun. Everyone was great!

Oh and our father''s are wearing the same shirt. It''s by Tommy Bahama and is a cream on cream w/ a fern leaf print.

here''s a pic of the guy''s shirts
