Do you wear halo/cocktail right-hand-ring during the day?

First, I want to clarify that my intent is not to offend any halo owners. I myself have owned a few styles and loved them. In fact, it is my love for halos that inspired me to post this question.

But, I have a few cocktail rings that are just as blingy as halo engagement rings. True, they are not as refined, nor is the center stone as big as an halo e-ring. But, they are just as blingy and some do look like halo rings.. And I love bling. But for some reason, I don't feel comfortable wearing a cocktail ring on my right hand during the day, or rather, on an everyday basis. Even though "people vary" and I know I should do as I like, I really don't understand why I feel that a halo cocktail ring feels out of place during the day, or when I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

Please comment on whether you wear your cocktail rings casually, or why you prefer not to. Also, please comment on whether you think these rings look weird and out of place during the day.

Hi Braga123! I don't know if these are considered cocktail rings, but I wear chunky David Yurman rings on my right hand all day, everyday, both dressed up and in jeans/shorts with a simple shirt. I dress rather conservatively and I use jewelry, handbags and scarves to spice it up! When my halo reset of my old diamond is done (can't wait!), I certainly plan on wearing it during the day! I am probably not the norm, but that is just "my style" I guess.

The only one i'd consider a cocktail ring is my aquamarine double halo, and I wear that on occasion, just cause it's big and on my right hand, I knock it on everything. Not such a good idea since aquamarine is kinda soft...

Sure. I don't see a difference between a halo and any other type of ring. It's all bling, right?

This is the ring I wear pretty much every day on my right hand. It's a 4ct sapphire with a diamond halo.

I wear a 3-stone ruby heart ring on the left hand ring finger (first ring on the right in the middle row in the pic below), and the small EC on the right hand middle finger (first ring on the left in the front row).



The rest are special occasion rings.

It depends on the ring. Halo, anytime. Cocktail or dinner ring can mean different things and a lot of diverse styles get lumped into that category. A ring like this, I would only wear as a dinner / cocktail ring, and probably only when dressed to the nines. This ring picture is from Lang's web site.

I don't usually wear a RHR when I am wearing shorts or jeans. I wear a RHR when I am a little more dressed up, and by that I mean at least my black dress pants!

(I agree with TC, I'd really only wear a true cocktail ring with semi-formal clothes which is rare, and that's why I don't buy rings that fancy!)

Oh, and the poll question is such that I could choose both answers. I appreciate all beautiful jewelry all the time! I take out my rings and just look at them sometime!
